  • Quite tempting. However having only 30 minutes of calls for 6 months is pretty crappy really and would no doubt end up in bills for me.

No texts either, which isn't a good thing.

Also; are they reliable for the cashback?

The Orange k500i on the page http://www.fwdcellular.com/en-gb/dept_54.html#item_333 looks decent, does anyone know how good the camera is for pictures/videos?

At least Voda is a stellar network, unlike 3.

Their system is much better than most..... you get paid everything after month 1 (others usually string out the cashbacks in instalments over the year).

Of course the risk is always with the buyer that any company goes under and cannot pay it's creditors!
  • Anyone tried calling their customer services or sales phone number ???

You are "always" in queue and call gets cut after 15 mins. I tried 3 times... 087xxx number...

    No reply of emails.....

Money is taken from your card immediately after placing the order and no sign of delivery for 2 weeks... (website shows 2-5 days)...

I ordered a small item (payg sim card) only.
  • They paid out fine for me. I had cause to email them and they emailed back promptly.
I recommend them and will use them again.
    To infinity and beyond!
  • As ever (I keep singing their praises) they're excellent - had several deals through them and the cashback runs like clockwork. Generally they have an excellent reputation - both here and on the usenet forums from people in the know.
The risk on the cashback is shorter than most with the cashback being received within the first couple of months.

Just one further point - one downside is :-
they're not easy to get hold of - this is a one man operation he's not able to field general enquiries as the larger ops would. Initially I thought - if it looks too good to be true ..... - but its worked fine for me every time.
  • I've used these several times, no problems.

Its a one man show, v busy, phoning is futile but emails are fine after a day or so. Cashback after 1 month after which you breath a sigh of relief, unlike others which are 6 months or a year.

Note the cashback is from FwdCellular - nothing to do with the phone companies, there is no point phoning Vodaphone or whoever as they are totally unaware where you bought it from or what deal you got. Also make sure that you cancel 1 month before the end of the 'free' period or you will be paying the provider's standard rate after that. Port your number if you need to.

I personally have 2 deals from FwdCellular about 10 months ago - a 750 min off peak with a phone and a 100 min anytime any network SIM only. Its cost me £60 for the year and the cheque back 28 days after the first bill - Fantastic! And I will be looking to them again soon.

Its a pity T Mobile dont allow you to downgrade after 6 months still. You could have got a 200 min anytime, cashback for the year after a month from FwdCellular, and downgraded to either 100 min or an off peak tarrif with a large rebate from T Mobile, effectively paying you to use their service providing you did not use your entitlement. Ahh those were the days...

The only other deal I have had is with E2Save for the Sony 610 anytime which is £20 per month but credit card refund of £90 at the 3 & 6 month period - £60 for the year. I got the 3 month refund fine after emailing a jpg of the bill in, and am now looking forward to the 6 monthly soon.

There's a risk in all of these deals hoping the company you buy from does not go bust, but Fwd Cellular is the only one I know that pays after a month giving you a nice warm feeling when you receive that cheque.

    Good Luck!

I have the K500i on Orange, I am really pleased with it, the camera is really good with a 4 x optical zoom for pictures and video. I have using it to video my fave music star at concerts recently and the quality has been superb.
