Hello Guys, Im freakin out as i have just submitted my online forms and printed out three copies and realise i have made a mistake when listing amounts owed to secured creditors! Dooh!
Can i just rewrite that page alone by hand using some spare form template and photo copy it?
Will the court go mad? Will it all now have to be in hand writing?
Panic stations!
Im in court monday am so got no time to spare!
Thanks guys.

Just add the bits you've forgotten, then sign the amedments at the court in front of the clerk.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

I made a mistake too on my forms, I listed I owed one creditor 26k. Just before court I found out I only owed them 20K, I just crossed it out and signed it, Handed in at the court and explained they were fine.
The court itself is the easy bit, most are lovely.0 -
If court is the easy bit which is the most difficult or nerve wracking ? I would just like the courage to fill in the forms yet alone the rest of it ! Wish I could be braver. well done you both0

The lead up to bankruptcy is by far the most difficult, stressful, nerve-wracking part of the process. Just remember that tomorrow night when you go to sleep - this part of the process will be over so sleep tight. Court is easy, OR interview may or may not be tricky - just be honest with them, then the next 12 months (less if you get early discharge!) you can start to live again.

They are not judgemental at the court, they treat you with respect and understanding. I was very worried before court but i neednt have been, straight after went to co-op to open a new account then onto the pub for a celebratory lunch.
On the work up to the OR interview was bad, I felt like a naughty school girl waiting outside head master office:-)
Even that was fine, the woman was great! check out my post 'or interview over but any use?'
I know have the fear of OR appointed Trustee, the fear of loosing my home and car, and having a IPO for the next three years0 -
The part that terrifys me is the publishing in newspaper thing and my kids and family finding out, I think if it wasnt for those 2 factors I would go for it, I dont care about credit rating etc its just peoples reaction that worries me. I cant see the point in publishing peoples bankrupcy in papers , what is hoped to achieve by doing it?0

I think they are going to stop the newspaper thing. If it makes you feel any better I don't think mine was published. Does your local newspaper publish such trivia?
If anyone does say anything just say "Oh I always wondered what kind of people read that section of the paper" say that as you look them up and down like they are dog !!!!!!.

Hehe....great idea 5YP....no-one likes a nosey parker !
Anyone know when/if the paper thing is to be changed?? I heard it was March09 but not sure where I read it except that it was proposed in last years budget speach. ( thats a years ago....did Mr Brown/Darling know something we didnt??)0 -
I have only spotted businesses mentioned in my paper going bankrupt , but I dont get them all ,If they stopped publishing personnel bankrupcy I would defo consider it. It should be stopped as it seems to me like kicking a man when hes down ,archaic and bit like watching people being beheaded in anchient times, especially in these hard times with so many loosing jobs etc.
One day I hope to pluck up the courage and be free to live again without the phone ringing, and dreading the postman. xxxx
Please note I only look for bankrupcy notices to see if personnel ones are in there for my future intentions on doing so myself, not because I am some kind of ghoul..lol0 -

Credit ratings dont bother me either, I mean... after the stress of BR I will never take out another loan ever! my eyes have been opened with a lot of things, I enjoy saving money now, I have a book keeping programe on my computer and I know how much money i have, when my direct debits are due and If I will have any spare at the end of the month! I feel free.
I must admit, before the thought of the newspaper didnt bother me. Thursday night a friend (who knew about the BR) told me I was in the days issue along with 9 others i may add! It upset me a little, That night I had a call from my mom who lives some 100 miles away from me, She told me my cousin had called her to tell her I had gone BR. now that annoyed me! I had luckily told my mom already, she is understanding (especially as she may have to do it herself in the future after packing up work due to heart problems) But I got thinking, what if due to her health I hadnt told her? what right did my cousin have... I just got wound up. But you know, Im still here it was upsetting but I have no phisical pain, It didnt kill me.. like the debt nearly did!
Today Im happy, I have had my shopping delivered by Tesco.com the first time since december, I feel like im getting back to normal now just something simple like shopping online makes a big difference to my life. I work long hard hours and have 3 kids, I can enjoy weekends again without having to spend 3 hours shopping! :T
BTW I checked my prepay mastercard and tesco have two transactions pending one is for £2 what they took on the 5th, I guess to check the account and the other is for the full amount of shopping. Im hoping the £2 will go back in.. along with my £7 for unwanted subs!
The decision to go BR is a hard one my friend, But living with large debts that you cant control is harder. No matter what life throws at you during your BR process just remember this board and its wonderful members are here to offer hugs, support and advice. They are all wonderful :A0
