Phone memory
Can anyone explain something to me please.
I've noticed on "quick guides to phone specifications", on memory/phonebook/sms storage alot say variable. Does this deepend on you network and should they be able to provide me with this information.
I have just recieved new phone, 10 texts two pictures and it's telling me my memory is low. My old phone would store 40 plus, my daughter's phone will store over a 100.
Any advice, thanks

The amount you canstore on your phone is not dependant on the network it is down to the internal memory of the phone which is fixed, and some phones have a memory card which can be changed to one with more memory.salli9 wrote:I've noticed on "quick guides to phone specifications", on memory/phonebook/sms storage alot say variable. The Motorola SLVR has 5mb of memory which sounds ok, it depends on what other stings you have saved on the phone and also are the texts saved on the sim card or the phone.Nearly debt free

The memory card allowance can also be reduced by high quality images taken with the camera, or long video's.
A video of 3 minutes will use less space than a video of 10+ minutes.
Same with the Camera, if you can change the resolution of the camera images, lower res images will take up less space than high res images. Smile, you only get one life, LIVE IT.0 -
Also on one of the sub menus on the phone there maybe an option to "save to sim" or "save to phone" most sim cards can only hold between 10 and 20 texts so if you change the default to "save to phone" you will probably be able to save several hundred.
