Young driver motor insurance

When I first qualified when I was 17 they were asking £800+. So much that I didn't buy a car at the time, as I didn't need it.
I left buying a car until I was 25, but even then they were still asking £600/year. Thankfully I got free insurance when I bought my car (it was new), so that saved me that £600 plus gave me a head start on my no-claims.0 -
Sorry, E car quoted nearly £1700. Looks like it has to be Adrain Flux.0

Is your son at university? Endsleigh insurance gave my son a favourable quote because he was (this was 5 years ago though)0

Have you tried directline? I have been with them since i passed my test nearly 3 years ago and they have been cheapest every year when i go to renew. When i first passed my dad had car in his name but had me as main driver. he had protected no claims so although i did have an accident it didnt affect his no claims bonus0

Had daughter on wifes insurance with Tesco from 17, when she got her own car they gave her 3 yrs bonus for herself so making a new Peugeot 107 £275.00 at 20 yrs old. Cheap car to run and insure.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Go with direct line, I got a quote from them yesterday for £282 on a vauxhall corsa 1.4 1996. I am 18 and have no claims bonus. (I was a named driver though or something)0

You might want to check that in a little more detail. If you're down as a named additional driver, when in fact you are the primary driver of the car, that's basically insurance fraud and your insurance will be invalid.student100 hasn't been a student since 2007...0 -
as I've said before.. get something over 25 years old..... limit the mileage.... insurance plummets.... my son got a quote from one of the classic insurers for a 2.0 cortina estate, limitted to 6000 miles a year, just under 20 quid a year FC....0

I would advise Swinton and Endsleigh as they specialise in younger drivers.
