without the bypass Aberdeen will always be a nitemare traffic wise and will only get worse until the council can find the ability to pull their heads out their A*$E:mad:0

http://www.rowett.ac.uk/ Nutrition and health institute. It merged with Aberdeen uni last year but would be especially convenient for you as it is based off the A96 on the outskirts of Aberdeen
Be aware that as part of the merger deal, the Rowett will almost certainly be moving into Aberdeen & almost certainly on to AU's Foresterhill site. The final move may well be a few years away yet.
Aberdeen Uni also rolled-out the final "consultation" into its sustainable travel plan this week & that will almost certainly see folk charged a substantial sum for using their own vehicles, so bear that in mind as well.
Cycle options from Dyce towards Old Aberdeen are not too bad IIRC. I think there is a reasonable cycle track alongside the worst stretch of dual & I remember a student talking about a route along the River itsself from Woodside, virtually to Old Aberdeen itself.
Dice to the rest of town is another matter however & you are going to face a steep hill and/or b.awful traffic too0 -

The last proposed date I heard for the finished new building was 2014 (I think this is an exaggeration though) and we may even have a bypass by then
But yes, Rowett land is getting sold and a new school building built on the foresterhill complex. It's going to take a while though0 -
If you chose to live in Kingswells you could get a park and ride which stops outside the ARI.
The traffic is bad in the morning no matter where you are in Aberdeen. I worked at Dyce Airport and drove from Westhill every morning for 8.30 this wasn't too bad as there are some back roads that make it easier but even they get busy in the morning.0 -

They have been promising us a bypass since 1952 (Yes, I live & grew-up near the proposed route) - Even with the Uni's usual go-slow pace, I'd reckon they will probably get there first!0 -
lived in Kintore all my life, nice safe place, mostly friendly people, good commuting distance. My hubby works at uni and never has a problem with traffic(compared to major cities we have lived in) there are plenty of back roads to avoid congestion at airport roundabout etc. You could live on the Leylodge side which would give you the option of going in the A944 road via Westhill. Good luck with the House hunting0

http://www.rgu.ac.uk/ Robert Gordons University is right in the centre of town meaning you can easily bus or train there from anywhere in Aberdeen/shire
They are looking to move the whole campus down to Garthdee over the next few years, little point in living in the north of Aberdeenshire if you have to travel right through Aberdeen.Sometimes i surprise myself by being right.0 -

Thanks for that, I didn't realise they were another one relocating  I suppose they would be ok for a short term contract and whilst getting used to the area.
What is it with all this relocating to hard-to-access areas nonsenseApart from making money from selling off prime real estate of course
It wouldn't be so bad if they moved to locations with good public transport links but oh no, it has to be somewhere difficult to get to.

I live in Blackburn and used to work in Kintore, wife works at Foresterhill. As long as she leaves at 0900 its only 15minutes. Its only if you are trying to get into Aberdeen beteen 0630 and 0845 you have a problem. Takes her 1/2 hour to get home a 1700.
Alot of bad press here about the traffic in Aberdeen, so why not try the big cities in England i am shure its a lot lot worse.
We complain of a 1/2 hour commute i have friends who think that would be heaven.
Good LuckJust A Grumpy old Jedi0
