New Board

Options
Hi Guys

We hope you like the idea of a new board especially for PPI Reclaiming.

Hopefully it'll organise itself but the idea was to allow people to start their own threads as the general discussion thread gets very big very quickly and posts can get lost.

Let us know what you think is best for us to suggest to new MoneySavers needing help from those of you that have already been through the process :)

Thanks all

Wendy

I take it you mean in the PPI process. We have always been led to believe that we make the complaints against the "seller" of the PPI if it was different to the lender.(this is for MISSELLING complaint!!). This is now debatable and we are being told by some experts on here that the complaint can be against either the lender or the broker. If the broker was unregulated due to dates but the lender was regulated then to get this within the FOS jurisdiction make it against the lender. I am now confused myself. We have had experts on here in the past who we have all looked up to and a few of us have been let down by the FOS by listening to the experts views.

Its a little complicated and we would be grateful if perhaps someone from the MSE staff etc could get this clarified and perhaps update the guide again. No-one wants to get their complaint into the FOS doing it the latter way and then wait for them (which can often be months) to say "sorry, it should have been against the broker as they actually SOLD you the PPI.

This is only in relation to the misselling of PPI and FOS jurisdiction. Other complaints can be done as we know through lawyers or claims management companies.

Also it would be good to have a GISC sticky with firms that were members of the GISC and dates they became members. This has always been a problem.
  • Hi Marshalka
I'm sorry to jump on this thread but I know you have successfully claimed from Co-op so if you get some free time would you be able to take a look on success board as Co-op have made me an offer but I'm confused by it, many thanks

    Hi Wendy

I think it will prove too much for some to have 2 ppi discussions going, I think it would end up with ppi discussion going on, on two different threads.

The PPI 4 discussion does get very big and long, but everyone knows they will find their needed help on there from the great knowledge on there at the moment.

    Just my thoughts.;)

    Thanks

  • Surely it is better for threads to be separate so that no one needs to wade through pages & pages to find their answers.

Also questions are getting asked & help being required on the PPI Discussion yet none is being offered & postings are ignored.

If the threads are separate everyone gets a chance to have their say & there is a better chance of getting the information required.

Would it be possible to have an professional to answer questions on a separate thread even if it did take a little longer to get an answer?

EVERY post on the ppi discussion is answered by someone who can help:confused: nothing is ignored. If people can't help they don't post.

Incipience and petermb are a wealth of knowledge along with others on the ppi 4 forum

Yes they may have a wealth of knowledge, but surely it would be better to have someone who was totally independant, who was approved & selected by the MSE & whose qualifications have been verified.

Having separate threads ensures everyone stands a fair chance of being heard.

No one is stopping anyone posting on the PPI Discussion if they want to.

This is actually the best of both worlds. No-one is stopping the PPI thread 4 but people can post their own problems seperate if they so please.

Everyone has a chance to put their views on either.

The problem being is its an open forum and it states at the top "anyone can post so always exercise caution when acting on info", I don't think this website or any MSE would want to take on the responsibility of putting a totally independant person on here who was even approved by them. Martin Lewis is the qualified one here and he could not post to everyone, its really only for guidance and to look at others experiences, similar to that of your own.

The only approved person people can go to is a Solicitor.

I never said anyone was trying to stop people posting, I stated that with too many threads going people will get lost, I also felt that there would end up being bits of posts here and bits of posts there and info all over, so instead of looking through pages people are now going to have to trawl though many threads with many a different story just to find answers for there cause.

The simple answer is no approved person would be appointed by MSE, the info is for guidance only, you can act on the advice or not, its everyone own choice.

The whole point of this website is for guidance only and sharing experiences

    come on people....

no point on argiung over something because of a difference in opinion..

personally, i think this board is a good idea, as is the seperate threads - each person can see straight away if their question is answered.

the ppi discuaaion thread tends to become a "daily chat" - many have said that if they leave for an hour, there can be 5 or 6 pages of fresh posts. This can make it difficult sometimes to find the answer.
