I make cards as my hobby so I could send you some if you want. But if you have to do all the organising and sending, that will be a lot for you, in time and money. And if I put a wee parcel together for someone should I send it to you first and then you have to pay postage again to send it on?
I get easily confused. I like the idea but we have to think this over and research a bit more. Giving out addresses and such might not be such a great idea. Does anyone know what that other forum was where they used it? We could have a sneaky look on there

I'm in! :j
About to be away from the forums for a couple of weeks though, so if there's any organising going on whilst I'm away, count me in but I won't know about it!
Even with high postage in mind there are things by the sound of it I can do. I used to be a cardmaker and have rather a lot of supplies here, so could happily make and send a batch of cards to one central person, for a variety of situations/occasions.
Whoever does end up organising all this, please PM me with what happens. I don't stand a chance of catching up with all the posts of 2 weeks when I get backSoftstuff- Officially better than 0070 -
I thought the central person held the addresses etc - but if there was a mouse in need then all the mice rallied round and sent items/maybe money/whatever is needed onto the central person who made up the parcel and sent it on to the recipient
eg. if someone is having a hard time and cant afford to heat they're home this winter. One mouse could send a cheapy pack of tea lights to help warm them in the evenings, one mouse could send some cup a soups to help keep them warm, one could send a pack of bedsocks, or perhepas somethign little if they had kids like a blanket, pyjamas for them etc etcTime to find me again0 -
Sammy
That sounds good and just what is needed
Also for the people who are not in the UK they could always send a nice little e-mail that could be printed out and put in to the person - sometimes some kind words go a long way.

I was just thinking the same as you Mumoftwo
Paying 2 lots of postage would be most un :money: :rotfl:
What If we had 1 person leading it (call them A for now ).. then say if anyone picked up that someone was in need or just down (call them B)... we PM A andlet them know, then perhaps A could contact B and ask if they would mind A having their address (and explain what for) if not then A could let us know what might be useful for B and takes a list of who is sending what -be it a card or whatever... and we all post to A saying we are sending something -and if possible what.. that way if there are any funny goings on A will know all the people who had Bs address
God it sounds like i work for the secret service :rotfl:
Not sure if that makes sense or is doable ..im sure we will figure it out between usIm sure someone will have a more sensible idea
See sammy kayes idea sounds better :rotfl: only thing is that the person who holds all the goodies -then has to pay to post them on
Just thought If my idea is do-able..then also it will nean that the person will get several cards, bits n bobs -which is always nice -getting nice things through the post-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
cant find the web site I looked at the other day that did this:mad:
but basically what happened was chief mouse arranged a rota for mice to take it in turns to post off card/small things, so it doesn't become 1 person getting 20 things, could end up like pyramid selling otherwise:rolleyes:
so 1 person in need/feeling down etc gets 1 card/small gift etc
Don't have a problem with my address being given out, I think,
you never know fly ladies might pop round and sort out my loft for me:rotfl: Mrs M could pop over and turn all my ingredients into great tasty food and someone might let me borrow their small people to take to the cinema to see kids films again...mine are to old for this they tell me....well they are 18-28:rotfl:
anyone got a good site yet to look at that does this?, not getting much luck on google0 -
Annie
do you want to borrow me n hubby -44 and 36 respectively.. and we still watch ice age etc.. can't wait for kung fu panda to come out on DVD so we can see it lol
Just a thought ... I don't mind posting bits n bobs... using the post office on camp means I only pay similar to posting from the UK woohoo-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
Tash - you've got my vote too!:T I think its a great idea to try and help someone out in a small way when they are in need. We ever know when we might need it to be our turn do we!Do what you love :happyhear0

Annie - 3 LO's here that love movies - lol - might be expensive postage on 3 of them though !!!
I am happy whichever way we do this - just needs a bit of thinking !! I like Sammys idea though the postage would be higher - perhaps we could do this for people who reallyu, really need help like if they are flooded, etc. We could also do MrsMcawbers idea so if someone wanted to send a card then they could. But then we could also have a rota so that we know everyone is covered and will be looked after.
That way we have all 3 excellent ideas in oplay and instead of copyoing another website we have our original MSE Mice !!!

The one I saw via google seemed to send the address of the person to recieve the nonny mouse packages/letters/cards to the members. They then send their bits direct to that person with either A Nonny Mouse and their address or the address of the organiser if they preferred, so that there was a return address if the PO couldn't deliver for any reason.
It really depends how people feel about others having their address, I don't mind and personally I like the idea of the flyladies rocking up en masse to sort out my house, though I suspect they'd make me stand in the naughty corner for ever more, and Mrs M turning up to cook for me is even better! I have plenty of children to donate for cinema visits lol!GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000
