a top tip if you iron bedding is to buy a couple of sleeping bags and sleep on the floor. Cuts down on washing and ironing over time, I don't think we've had to change the bed in nearly 6 years now. My backs killing me mind, but the bed looks pristine.....

yes and think of all the money you must've saved along the way, with not having to wash and iron them. :rolleyes2
I didn't realise that taking pride in my home would leave me open to your sarcasm.
Next you'll be telling me i shouldn't change the bedsheets every week either.0 -
Erm, on the odd occasion that I do ANY ironing (That's 'his' job - I'm the DIYer!
) then when it comes to bedding I just iron the bedcover when it's actually on the bed!
Much easier than fannying around dragging it all over the floor when you are fighting with it and your ironing board!0 -
I iron my cotton or polycotton bedding too
, don't like to see wrinkly sheets. I've got a steam generator iron and it's much quicker and easier to iron sheets/duvet covers with one of these.
For my flannelette sheets I don't iron them as it flattens the pile, but I tumble dry them (keeps them nice and thick and fluffy) but as soon as the drying cycle finishes I take them out and fold/smooth them, they look pretty good if done straight away.0 -

What exactly is it you're after? Is it bedding that will look great (perfect?) without ever being ironed? If so, I'm not sure it exists. I think that the non-iron stuff is really "minimum-iron" and that some ironing is needed to keep it looking really good.
Personally, I've always found the non-iron sheets harder to iron as you have to use a lower temperature and any creases tend to "fix" in the fabric.
But if it's really "never, ever iron again and it will be perfect", I'm not sure this existsWarning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -
Who cares unless you are showing your house? In which case, there's nothing a throw can't solve, lol!Kavanne

So now we want to relegate the Supima bedding to the spare room and just do not have a clue where to find bedding that really is NONE iron, NONE itch.
Any thoughts would be useful and sorry about the long post!
I thought non-iron polycotton had chemicals in it to make it non-ironmaybe that's why you're finding it itchy.
I have cotton bedding, I iron the pillowcases, and hang the duvet covers on the line which helps minimise creasing.0 -
I have 100% cotton from John Lewis it is textured and therefore doesn't need ironing. Like the lady says, hang it up neatly-job done! Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0

How about rubber sheets? You'll NEVER need to iron them...If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

All except 1 reviewer here love the M&S Supima Bedding.

You're not aka 'Cheryl from Cheshire' are you?
I don't know if there is an easy answer to your problem. I'm sure from your obvious experience that you wash on correct programmes. I have older Dorma bedding, which I never iron, just wash on the correct programme and line-dry or fold and dry on the radiator. Other bedding which dries less well, I fold into 4 lengthways, and whisk the iron over both sides of the length, takes me about 60 seconds (and stick it on a hot radiator if the heating's on). I'm quite happy with that, suits me and my lifestyle.
However, your standards are high and there's nothing wrong with that, but probably to achieve what you require is going to take extra effort. I wouldn't have much confidence in 'Next' products in this case, but have you taken your problem to an experienced assistant in John Lewis (during a quiet time!) and had a good chat with them?0
