Cheap Parking for Kensington

Hi!

We've got a cheap deal on Priceline.co.uk for a hotel in Kensington. If you don't know the site try it. They have a name-your-own-price section. We managed to get a four start hotel in London for £40/ night! Only thing is they don't have a car park. Nearest car park is £35 quid a night. . . .

Can anyone suggest a tube car park we could use for the weekend or anywhere cheaper?

Thanks all!

Kensington has three stations: High Street Kensington, South Kensington, and Olympia. High Street Kensington is on the Circle and District lines, South Kensington is on the District, Circle, and Piccadilly Lines, and Olympia is on its own little branch of the District Line.

Your name implies that you will be travelling from the west, and of these lines the one that runs furthest to the west is the Piccadilly Line, so ideally you should look for a car park at a Piccadilly Line station in the west of London with parking - remarkably few and far between unfortunately.

However, Jubilee Line stations in the west do have parking. Wembley Park is £1 on a Saturday and FREE on Sundays; Stanmore £1 Saturdays and £1 Sundays, although be aware there are limited spaces. Wembley Park's probably the easiest of the two options. Take the Metropolitan Line to Baker Street then the Circle Line to High St Kensington. From Stanmore, take the Jubilee Line to Green Park then the Piccadilly Line to South Kensy.

Of course, if you're making use of public transport anyway, why not travel there by Public Transport too? Jump on a train from Temple Meads directly into Paddington and you're only three stops on the District or Circle Line away from High Street Kensington. You can forget the hastle of parking, you'll be there in an hour and a half, and kick back and have a drink on the train.

    Have fun!

Great thanks Richy! Actually I don't live in Bristol anymore, but I'll be meeting my boyfriend in London and he is travelling from Cardiff, so I think you've covered all oru bases here.

    Cheers!
