  • Let's compare that with TalkTalk's December offer for those joining Talk2.

£20/£30 just for signing up, £7.50 GreasyPalm rebate (if you're a GreasyPalm member), FREE evening and weekend calls to USA and Canada (landlines and mobiles) for a whole year, FREE evening and weekend calls to UK 01/02 number for a whole year, FREE evening and weekend calls to all Australian landlines for a whole year and FREE calls to all TalkTalk customers, all of the time.

And what about those people who don't want to sign up to Talk2? :P

I think its a great deal for Xmas, although I'll probably use cheapestcalls.co.uk when phoning my relatives in the US.
Cheers for the post though. I'm sure there are many people who'll want to talk advantage of the promo. ;D

There is much to be said in favour of the promotion by talktalk for calls to USA & Oz and if we had connections there, I'm sure we take full advantage.

Today, ma-in-law returns from Spain where we have been calling her via 1899 since learning about it on MSE. Over the phone she asked me if I could sort something out for her in readiness for when she returns to Spain in the New Year. I've sorted out two Spanish phone providers which will allow her to dail a prefix from there to the UK and hopefully it will cost her less than currently.

When she visits us, I know she will be asking us how and if she can phone USA cheaply. I also know she won't want to register with another company, so I will be suggesting either Telesavers or CheapestCalls and their respective prefix codes.

The talk talk deal beats this hands down. But there are some people that may not be able to sign up e.g. not their line and others that might use this on the move...mobiles (if permitted) and when away from home.
