Yeah started to do this, As I was paid and also audited and did not have to pay the money back things are very strange, Only just asked about it with the Army Welfare Service and he said that i should have a claim as there were so many mistakes and none managment of my health case was really left out of the loop. British Legion have also said there is a claim to be had, I put this on here to see if anyone had any thing like this happen to them, But Cat695 seem to want to argue about it?Sharky1378:eek:0

Hi
You have a lot of issues going on right now so your head must be a little scrambled and I think some of the comments have been a little harsh too. Hindsight is a wonderful thing and we all make mistakes.
My situation is a little different to yours. 10 years ago whilst a member of the RAFVR(t) I had a car accident whilst on duty. The RAFVR(t) run the Air Training Corps Squadrons. The end result is that I have lost my career (as a civilian) and have spent 10 years on benefits. I had to leave the RAF to claim a war pension as that was the only way I could survive. When my case was settled a huge chunk of my pension was removed. My husband is a serving member of the RAF. The claim for the car accident took 6 years to sort out and like yours it should have been straight forward. Make sure you have a good solicitor and hassle them to make sure they treat your case as a priority. The other side argued 50/50 then 70/30 80/20 90/10 and eventually caved in but it took time. I only had one small £5000 interim payment - most of which was eaten up in costs already accrued through medicals etc before the claim was finished and I was also married by then so was in a little bit of a better financial situation.
I am the first to admit that my knowledge is limited to the RAF and really in particular as a dependant. Getting transport isn't always easy and when you are out of the loop and away from your local unit is must be really hard. I had a lot of help from RAFA in the early days which was good. I am sure that the British Legion will be able to point you in the right direction.
Our Hive has free solicitor clinics here every month. If you have any queries like this why don't you see if there is a unit near to where you are staying that you may be able to access this service. There are agencies out there that should be able to help you. Have you tried contacting your padre? Not for spiritual help but for practical help. They know whom to contact and which agencies to use. We have had cause to seek ours out here and he was wonderful.
I do hope that things get better for you in the very near future. If you have any questions for me then please ask.
