I am trying to EDUCATE you as to how to use these and any other Boards.

Put SOME effort in yourself by searching for FAQS and then if you don't find an answer ask.
  • hi 1 tip is if you get on the free bus and go to the santa fe hotel just at the top of the entrance to that hotel is a garage very very cheap on drinks etc for you to take to your hotel room.

We stayed in the Disneyland Hotel 2½ years ago - it was fantastic - you will love it. The best thing about staying in the hotel is the characters roam the corridors for photo opportunities and autograph signing, which is great, particular when you see them getting mobbed in the park.

The breakfast (buffet) is pretty good too, pastries, croissants, rolls, cold meats and cheeses, yoghurts, cereals, fruit juices. Many people would make up rolls at their tables, and wrap them in napkins - obviously for later in the day - and were not discreet about it.

If there is anything specific you would like to ask, please pm me.

You will have a fantastic time.

Annettes diner was quite good very burger and chips but it was quite tasty and cheap compared with the other rubbish we were served! Its amazing France, which has the nicest food in the world really does American food badly. Also Hard Rock Cafe wasn't as expensive as somewhere like the rainforest cafe we did use the money off coupons which are handed out so that brought the price down. Beware, at night Disneyland is very full and you can wait an hour for a table to be free! The wild west show was good value too, with a meal included (I think on certain offers you can get kids free, I know we did) But everything was very burger based. Don't eat Pizza inside disneyland as it was the worst I have ever tasted! It had potato as a topping and the base was cold and wet! Yum! It was in the shape of mickeys head so you can avoid! I heard the food at the Pirates of the Carribian ride was good and is fish based but I didn't try it myself. Have a lovely time and I think that some of the food is quite good but you have to pay more for the nicer eateries and i am too tight!
But if ever I stray from the path I follow
Take me down to the English Channel
Throw me in where the water is shallow And then drag me on back to shore!
'Cos love is free and life is cheap As long as I've got me a place to sleep
Clothes on my back and some food to eat I can't ask for anything more

Thanks for all your USEFUL tips. i really appreciate your comments. I can't wait to get there now, i'm sure i'm more excited than the kids!!!!
  • You'll love staying in the Disneyland Hotel. We stayed there a couple of years ago and it was fantastic. Breakfast is great and the characters are usually around - you have to pay extra for this in other places.

It's very expensive to eat and drink in the hotel though - we were 15 euros just for 2 beers (dinner was out of the question).

I loved the park but the only thing that lets it down is that it's very junk-food based.

We ended up taking food with us and because your hotel is right there, it is easy enough just to nip back to the hotel room and grab something to eat - it also gives the kids a chance to re-charge their batteries.

    You'll love it.

Having been to Disneyland Paris with our kids a couple of times, there are several pieces of advise that I would suggest:-

The food and drink costs in Disney hotels and restaurants within the park and Downtown Disney are absolutely astronomical. A very basic kids' meal will cost you £8 - £9, adults are £14+ (this isn't hote de cuisine either!). I'm not a big drinker but a pint of lager everywhere costs £4.30!

Not sure whether you are staying at a Disney hotel on a B + B basis but if you are, eat as much as you can in the morning and make as many sandwiches from the plentiful buffet to sneak out as you can (most people seem to do!) saves buying a lunch. Take a bag down to breakfast with you - and you'll have enough for positively a small army around dinnertime!

If you are B + B, I would strongly advise that as soon as you can that you contact whoever you have booked your break with and request that you have your breakfast at a restaurant within the park. Benefits of this are not only do you get into the park an hour earlier than other punters but you will most likely be eating at a restaurant that is at the far side of the park - meaning that after your 'feed' the area that you walk out into is very quite as other punters won't have got there - in effect, work the park backwards towards the entrance and avoid potential queues.

If you haven't pre-booked breakfast in the park, upon arrival to the Disney hotel you will be asked if you want to do this - IT IS A FREE OPTION but invariably not all days are available as others have booked before you. Book as soon as you can before you go.

The other piece of advise that I would present is that if you are flying, the bus ride from outside the airport to Disney costs about £25 for adults, about £15 for children. There is a cheaper alternative to go out of the air terminal and go via train but it's a fair walk with your luggage from the CDG / Orly airports - not only that but when you dock at Disney, it's another fair old walk to the hotels. The bus at least drops you outside your hotel.

Alternatively, you can haggle like hell with the taxi drivers who will take you to your park hotel for about £50!

    Bon voyage!!!

One hundred years from now it won't matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much money I had in the bank, nor what my clothes looked like but the world may be a little better because, I was important in the life of a child.

Thanks Hizz, will certainly book breakfast at a restaurant in the park. We are B+B only. With regard to the transfer from the airport to hotel, this is supposed to be in with the price of the hoilday but will def. check it out. Has anyone else had transfers paid for when booking their hols here??? It will certainly save me some money.
  • HIya, we found the food was fine at DLP. We stuffed ourselves at breakfast and did the sneaking out extra breakfast rolls and ham for lunch thing but as were there in dec it was too cold for a picnic! We tended to grab chips or whatever for lunch - the fast food is RANK! We then had a proper meal at night so the kids were getting some nutrition!! We ate at the rain forest cafe twice (kids loved it and ate all their meals - 1 meal between the 2 of them was ample - kids were only 18m and almost 3yo) and we also ate at the King Ludwig placea s we ahd money off - again the food was fab. Didn't mind paying out a bit more for better meals and we ate early to avoid the queues and to make sure we had time to get to the night time parade. We brought drinks and snacks with us and put them in the hotel mini bar.

We saved money by not buying tat and allowed the kids to choose 1 Xmas decoration and 1 balloon each. Only spent around £200. We drove though and stocked up on duty free on the way so didn't need to buy a lot of booze!! heehee
