Which Is The Best Zoo ?

My DS/DIL are wanting to take my DGD to the zoo (when the weather is better) and are thinking of going to Chester Zoo. Wondered if there were any regular zoo visitors on MSE who could give me an opinion on what it's like and how it compares to others.
My other option was Edinburgh - other than that I'm not sure where else there are any.
Cheers

South Lakes Wild Animal park is my favourite https://www.wildanimalpark.co.uk or i also like Blackpool Zoo, spend quite a bit of money doing it up with lots of new animals. https://www.blackpoolzoo.org.uk

I really liked Chester Zoo when we went but Paignton is the best one I have been to in the UK. Twycross is nice if you like monkeys and has a lot of open space to run around in. I don't know anything about Edinburgh I am afraid0

We have visited Colchester and Marwell zoo recently and found both to be good days out. Colchester is a bit hilly so tricky if pushing a pram though.Murphy's No More Pies Club Member No. 680
