Its in a gorgeous Scottish woodland so the more the merrier - how else can I pay for all the food without all of your lovely tesco's points:rotfl:

Or maybe I will get everyone to do a mega storecupboard challenge and send us food parcels!:D

congratulations on setting your wedding date!

i'm with the outlaws and have just had the arguement with my MIL which has been waiting to happen for over a year. Left me shaking and angry and i've escaped to an internet cafe. I feel guilty cos i know i've upset OH but he know's i haven't lied in anything i've said, it's just that no one stands up to her. This is going to be the longest weekend in living history i'm here till Sunday but i'm prepared to walk home if i have to!
  • Don't walk home you'll wear out your shoes!

Hugs dude - poor you - xx

I will be collecting leaves from the secret stripey location over the new year and perhaps I can nag you about advice for invites?

(((((((((LT))))))))))) Hope things blow over for you soon. Sometimes things need to be said - it's just difficult for people to hear them

Fay - congratulations on the wedding plans! Pah to nasty rows with ex husbands though :( And to silly supervisors. Hope you got that email off to student support. Speaking of which, I must email you..

Well, drama Chez Daffs today. Had lovely day with friends unexpectedly popping in and out all day and lots of tea drinking :) Am absolutely LOVING this lack of PhD malarkey! :)

However, British Gas man came to do annual boiler service. Boiler is older than me, and works fine (although you can't get hot water without the heating on - stupid in summer but cosy in winter!). However, he seemed to think it was unsafe, that the (tiny insignificant) part it needed they didn't make any more, and that we would therefore need to replace the whole system, at a cost of nearly £3000. Which he would give us a couple of hundred off if we agreed to it today.

    Er, don't think so mate!

So he's given us the name of the part we need (which we apparently won't be able to get), and sawed through the pipe connecting the gas to the boiler :(

However, we are hardy and resilient (well, apart from Mr Daffs who is currently sulking, and has been for last 4 hours, that someone has 'violated' him by coming into 'his' house and turning off the fully functional heating which was working perfectly this morning, and has the cheek to charge £3000 for replacing it).

Stripey socks and jumpers all round I say! :) Good excuse for hot water bottles and cosy blankets and hot chocolate and lots of snuggling up :)

Been to argos and got a couple of value mini heaters for £50, already got a couple of plug in radiators, got an electric shower and a kettle, and that's us set for the winter I think!

(once Mr Daffs has got over himself and quit sulking that is. Hope it's soon, I can't resist the urge to laugh at his drama-queen-ness much longer!)

    :)
