That red lemonade looks nice, can't get it here though huh?

Try the ethnic section in Asda (I kid you not :rotfl:we have a big Irish population where I live so they stock it, plus Tayto crisps etc. Also Scottish section where you can get a pan loaf, plus all the butchers sell square sausage :D)
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

sounds like you had a fab party and for a bargain price.
  • Indeed LT :) just as well as his birthday treat (one week today) was NOT cheap. So him scamming a party was a bit naughty - but OK as it was fun and not too expensive!

    Really tired tonight!

Yeah work - trying to be 'focussed' and then trying to switch off in evenings. Finding the writing hard and the deadlines stupid so I am working productively, missing deadlines and not thinking about it - I think its best to try and stay focussed and productive than doing my normal headless chicken thing. I am supposed to have 12 weeks for writing up a section which has mysteriously turned into 7 weeks - if they don't take it seriously then I am going to work at my own strictly serious and concentrated pace - if I am not allowed to work within the guidelines my review is set too then I am not going to kill myself. I think he's already decided I can't do it - I am not givnig myself a nervous breakdown for someone who isn't playing on an even field (rant over :o)

:jWe are going to see Muse:j

I am only (cough) supervising (cough) not going to go for the enjoyment factor:rolleyes: no no - merely supervising.

Oh dear Fay - you need to make sure tht damn supervisor sticks to the terms of your review! Otherwise what on earth was the point??? Grrr. Do we need to come up there with big pointy sticks??

    <slaps fay's supervisor>

Get in touch with the other one who was nice! :)

I'm slowly re-entering the 'normal' world... Trying to work out a budget to STICK TO so we can have holidays and stuff :):)

Glad DS enjoyed party, that punch looked great! :)
  • Hiya CD - glad you are feeling a bit more normal.

BTW Its the 'nice one' who's moving the goal posts.........

Go you and your budget! Then you can have a holiday (YAY!)

Are you keeping a diary of the changing goalposts and ridiculous behaviour? If things are getting unfair again go straight back to the University. You were given that time so that you had the appropriate support - if you lost 5 weeks where is the support?

    GRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!

Make sure you embaress DS at the Muse gig - he doesn't know how luck he is to have such a cool mum!!!!! Besides - it's character buidling for him!

Better go to bed - am very tired!!!!

Whoops - just read the crossed post. Always assume it is the bad supervisor being useless.
It might just be worth reminding him/her of the agreement in a nice way - and then go to the Uni.

Waves to Urg - I am about to very lightly stamp my little foot at a meeting later this week, I will not be railroaded this time, I will be uber polite, I have audio 'recorded' version of the meeting where the original deadlines were set , minutes from the other supervisor - I will not be ill, nor will I give up. And, if they don't listen I will phone Aberdeen and explain (nicely) my thoughts

(eek, go me rambo stripey student!)

I have just spent a week in NI with work, I have field work to finish (paying my brother to do my measurements) and I am expected to go to a post graduate conference AND tick over our new student, AND still keep churning stuff out like they have given me 64 hours in every day.

I say no more! The stripes have it.

Except Urg wow to the CC its depleted further :)
