Yep, Muffin Maclay like a bundle of hay and not forgetting Scar face Claw!!!!! Love those stories. Check that you don't get charged for over paying on your loan.
Its good that an eyebrow has been raised above the parapet. I found it quite cathartic to get it all out.

Daily Update -
(thank you piq for the cunning update in a diff colour :A )
Yesterday - Paid the first extra payment off my 'scary hairy maclairy' loan :j
Whilst I know this isn't new to any of lots of you its really uncharted territory for me.
Added up going away this week (wont put it here as its too scary for a couple days away) Keep thinking argh maybe this should just go to debt - but we don't get much time together as the cherubs go to see daddy in holidays so its nice to have some time - will check out how much exactly and compare the two ferry companies.
I called scary credit card people (barclaycard - first credit) the interest is frozen on that debt I am not paying any - therefore I think it can wait
Decided having taken advice and talked it through the scary maclairy loan can get my extra attention first
New lodger girl money wasn't really expected so considering throwing the whole lot of that extra to the loan each month. ?
The loan seems to have the interest applied to the balance each three months (4% every 3 months I think - be gentle I am very new at this 16% - can that be right? I have had this loan since 2003 - many expletives if that's right:eek: ) so in my new DFW thinking - the more that's off the balance as quick as possible is the way forward???
It is actually (is this sad?!) quite exciting thinking - right sleeves up - come on RBS you Bleeps - you aint getting much more of my money as interest.
Busy day today - need finalise something for my evil supervisor
(I have 4 there is only one who is particularily worthy of being fed to rabbid sheep or given to a cannabil and eaten with a very little spoon):D
So......need keep him happy somehow or other - as I can neither (according to the evil one) 'write nor express myself clearly' this will be a challenge.
Dunno how to do the 'work out when you might actually be debt free bit' but will sort that out soon. OH seems a bit perplexed about my sorting things out?
Must email lodger girlie and sort out lease, deposit and first months rent.
Watch out scary hairy maclairy loan.
ps Hairy Maclairy is a funny wee dog in a kids book that looks like my dog ''peedie'':D
I love Hairy Maclairy:D Great diary and i look forward to reading your exploits..silly man your ex.
I think you need the snowball calculator which if you punch figures in, will tell you how much you will be paying and your debt free date.

Have fun with evil supervisor..:D

Morning All, I'm sure you can get cashback through quidco or cashback kings or similar for ferry tickets so might be worth checking it out Fay.
As for money from new lodger put it to whatever debt has highest interest. If this is your loan check that you can overpay without penalties. If you can't (sometimes they only accept the full amount) then pay the lodger money to the next highest interest rated debt and pay that off quicker.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J0 -
Quick break - Hi lucille - love the books too.
phoned bank my loan is a PTL - 16.9% no penalties for paying extra. I took it out in 2003:eek:
- snowball (BOB - waving - thank you for the link!!) thingmy is great - if I am right and put ALL the lodger money + normal payment to the hairy loan - can be paid in 9 months instead of 23. ?? can this be true????
Ta UNix - can't seem to find a link for my ferry co's on quidco...........rats
Useless silly stupid (shut your ears darwin) van needs tyres - off to find out the cost at lunch - its never ending isnt it??????????????????Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:

Oh I like the Hairy Mclairy books!! Now I have a vision of a rather scraggly looking loan though! Very bizarre.
Good news if you CAN pay that loan off in that time. Quite a satisfying thought eh?
Hope the van tyres don't cost too much! I dread having to do anything to my car as I NEVER seem to be prepared for it!!!
Anyways must shoot off....Dad is taking my stepson to the Emirates stdium today to see Brazil v Italy. He's VERY excited (SS that is, not me Dad:rotfl: ). So must get us all packed up and on the move. Do you find as a Mum you NEVER sit down????
Good luck with the Supervisor thingummy....sounds scary!!

Oh yes, the snowball is great..i am having hours of fun with it:D Am working on training Mr.B with it but for some reason he is not responding..could it be
1) Electrodes don't work
2) He likes them too much
Or
3)Apply further sneaky tactics..slow withdrawel of food should do the trick and when he is dizzy, cunningly whip all credit cards out of his wallet and replace with library card ( he owes a fine on this though) and a basic account card for emergency use only..oh yes.... a plan is formed:rotfl: I love thinking things through on other folks threads.:D
Have you looked at other cashback companies for any discount? Do they give frequent ferry crossing milesBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
