I had a 2003 Jazz from new until last December and over the last two years it became almost unbearably painful to sit in the front seats, though worse in the passenger seat than the driver seat. I now have sciatica, though I will never know whether it was caused by making regular long journeys in the Jazz (about 8 hours each way every 6 weeks) or whether the car just made it worse.

Though the car itself is reasonably high, the front seats are not very high off the floor, from memory the passenger seat is about 26cm, the driver seat about 29 cm when fully raised. I was advised to try to find a car which allowed me to sit with my feet flat on the floor with my thighs horizontal (similar to the seating position on a dining chair).

    Gosh 5 months later I've made a decision.:o
Motability definitely out of the question now, I'm very likely going to lose my job so that money is being put aside for bills.

I just wanted to quote JPSC because you are the only other person I've heard who had the same experience as me in the Jazz. I wanted to like it so much because the write ups are amazing, but the dealer had to help me out the car after the test drive. I live in an area full of speed bumps and I felt every bit of gravel going over them in the Jazz.
Getting there... A deal at a time. :T
