Sounds like a reasonable charge based on your usage.
I like to be warm but I have my heating on 18 and I bought myself a big fleecy blanket. One off £10. I am quite toasty, thanks.Kavanne
Nuns! Nuns! Reverse!

LittleMissAspie, those temps are dangerously low and you risk hypothermia. Do you have them that low out of choice or simply because you can't afford to pay the bills?
Rob
I think you're mixing up your 'C with F !!!
Seriously, what exactly is the point of your post ?
You'd already estimated it would be about £300,
You accept keeping the heating on a (high) temp 24/7 would be expensive
You can easily afford to pay the bill so don't accept ANY advice re. reducing your usage.
So why were you (even remotely) "shocked" ?0 -
Three times the normal useage and only paying £115 per month. Most people would be delighted and only 'shocked' at how low your bill is. £40 per month to have your rooms at 21 degrees? A bargain.0

So why were you (even remotely) "shocked" ?Not sure really! Probably because last years equivalent was only something like £100  .
The post seemed like a good idea at the time but clearly no-one really cares as is evidently happy paying whatever they're paying and not 'shocked' at all when the bills arrive  .

Just put my usage in to my supplier and from nov 21st to today my gas and elec are £350 I was surprised but as I'm paying £105 a month I'm in credit !!! saying that I work at home lokking after young children so have to heat the house during the day but c/heating goes off at 5-30pm and just gas fire on .0

!!!!!!
.
25 Oct to 27 Jan is three months. You stated the actual useage is £350. This is for 24 hours per day for 3 months. Normal useage is less than 8 hours per day. £350 divided by 3 divided by 3 is £38.88.
Like I (and others) have said, most people would be delighted if they could heat a two-bedroom house for £40 per month these past couple of months.
Sorry about the reactions but it is a rather bizarre initial post.0 -
jesus, id kill to be able to heat the house for that much! I just had my statement from BG (CLICK ONLINE 6 TARRIF):
16/12/2008 - 04/02/2009
Gas used £226.85 for 203 units
Electric used £145.01 for 1606 units
Pay a total of £146 DD each month.
4 bed house, 4 adults, heating on for at least 7 hours per day, sometimes 24/7 over the coldest periods this last month or so, thermostat usually set to between 18-21, somtimes 25 when really perishing, but turned down again once warmed up.CC limits £26000
Long term CC debt £0
Total low rate loan debt £3000
Almost debt free feeling, priceless.
Ex money nightmare, learnt from my mistakes and never going back there again, in control of my finances for the first time in my adult life and it feels amazing.0
