Skype video on mobile broadband, plus sharing between computers

Hi

I'm moving house soon and just discovered that my new place is so far from the exchange that I can only expect 256kbit/s via ADSL. I don't really need a land-line phone so I'm looking at getting a 3G USB deal. I have two requirements:

1. I need to be able to do video Skype calls (I know it'd eat my quotas, but I can monitor that)
2. I would like to share the internet connection between 2 PCs and a PlayStation3.

Anyone know if either of these are possible?

Thanks

yes you buy a router with usb for data dongle, 3 has one for £69 that works with 3 usb modems, £30 a month ( 18 ) gets you 15 GB of usage on 3's top BB plan - considering Playstation will eat loads, quidco.com nets you £100 cashback on that plan, so 3 1/3 months free ;)
SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe ;)

Do you mean only when gaming or is it constantly downloading stuff? I don't do online gaming at all.

Anyway I think I got question 2 answered - I can leave one PC on (it's pretty much a server anyway) and use Internet Connection Sharing on it.

Question 1 about whether I can do Skype video calls is the important question. I have still not found an answer to this.

In relation to sharing yes you can do the internet connection sharing option as you suggested. But can as other person pointed out get a free usb dongle router. In relation to the Skype issue, you will have two problems. Firstly some traffics wont allow Skype use. For example the T-Mobile £15 traffic. So I think you would need to go onto the £30 one of T-Mobile (which I would recommend for data allowance.) But main problem you will have esp with it being Video Skype you want to do, is the upload speed. Cause the mobile broadband might advertise same / similar speed as static broadband ie upto 7.2 mobile / upto 8 mobile static. That is download, not upload. Its the upload that can have a huge effect on what you want to do. Probably the best solution in your case would be to get two telephone lines, and have one ISP with KEconnect who can than bond the connection of both ISP to give you double the download and upload speed and more reliablility. The second landline can be use for say teen children if you have any.
