Haven't used those Fay but they sound great - I'm still using my trial of Soapnuts at the moment. Let us know what they're like if you get some?

I feel quite proud of myself today.

I didn't have enough mince for the pie tonight so I thought I'd improve with chicken, but I only had chicken drum sticks so I poached them in seasoned stock and shredded the chicken off them. Then I put the left over stock in a jar and I now have tasty stock for my pie tonight and even more left over. Woo!

OK Andan (and others) says these soapnuts are good - any idea where to get a trial?

Read some good some bad things about the laundry balls - its alot of cash for something that 'might' not work. I haven't ever been very impressed by eco-washing powder - although the other products are good - I have never found the washing laundry stuff much good.

Well done on the chicken poaching - good initiative!!

Poached chicken gets this lovely colour on it and the skin stays moist. But I mostly only did it that way to get the chicken off the bone for the pie. Ooh, 45 minutes till I have start making the pie.

We use the wash it balls from lakeland

    http://www.lakeland.co.uk/wash-it-laundry-ball/F/C/washing-laundry/C/washing-laundry-washing-laundry-detergents/product/5718

They have been fine on almost everything except DD's mucky stable stuff which gets either 1 washing tablet or washball plus scoop of soda crystals. Got ours last sept not bought washing powder since - says 100 washes approx but that is based on long wash - if you use short wash lasts much longer.

Think someone mentioned a free delivery code for lakeland somewhere too;)

  • i need a virtual hug

just had to leave puppy at lunch time and she was crying and crying. She even got her jaw caught in the crate as she was trying to chew to get out. I am just hoping she doesnt do it again. DD will be home just after half three but I am just sat here worrying now :(

SOrry just saw this, I gave my puppy a jumper of mine in his crate and a soft toy of mine that i had slept with/in - it seemed to help him a bit - and a cardboard box (a wee one) which he chewed to shreds - the jumper thing seemed to help, a pal told me about it. Hope puppy is ok xx
