As I am not having any luck with phone unlocking & I need to use world wide sim card soon could someone suggest a cheapo no frills unlocked phone offer.
No camera etc etc needed just calls.

I'd go for a cheap Nokia as they are the easiest to unlock - by code from various websites, including from the helpful people in the thread at the top of this board.

Be careful what you buy because A cheap phone may not work worldwide just because it has been unlocked.

well, more and more of them are triband nowadays - which you'd need for Americas - but good point
