How many nights is a partner allowed to stay?

Hi

I was just wondering if anyone knows the answer to this.

I am a full time student, i get part housing benifit and my council tax exemption.

I have a new partner, at the moment he is not staying over just visiting. If he does stay over how mant nights is he allowed to stay before it effects my housing ben and council tax?

Thanks
M

I'm assuming that you're a lone parent; you didn't say.

...and I suspect if you ask them where they heard it, the answer will be the same as yours... ;)
"Part P" is not, and has never been, an accredited electrical qualification. It is a Building Regulation. No one can be "Part P qualified."

This is wrong and bad advice.

Each circumstance is different and they look at whether you are couple. A couple can be living together or not, the link is financial, not where each person sleeps.

  • Well i was told not allowed to have a partner stopping at all. She said he could come first thing in morning and stay til midnight but not actually allowed to sleep there.

She does not know what she is talking about, as mentioned there is no specific policy to stipulate how many nights a bf/gf can stop over and each case is looked at individually.
