Hey early thirties ah? Was just thinking how different it was then re house prices. Bought our first place mid 20`s, sold that, moved to a Victorian bungalow, really cute, at 28. By about 32 or 33 had enough in the bank to pay it off. Think we had a joint income of about £22k. Times have really changed.

Yes I was very disappointed at your reaction to the tourettes comment.
It was nothing personal and she obviously isn't aware your children have this disability. You are probably just tired and you can get irritable when you are tired but i do rather like you so will forgive you on this occasion.

    I aim to please..or disappoint! :D

You are right, I am very very tired and very stressed (not that anyone really wants to know that anyway), it's not much fun to have a screeching, making silly noises etc child plus another who has gone back to his old aggressive ways...these last two or 3 weeks it has been no fun having the !!!!!! kicked out of me.

So yes, I am rather sensitive at the moment.
Nice to know I am liked though! :T
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

To tell you the truth I live in an area where house prices are not that bad.
Purchased our first house mid 20's(3 bed semi) recently moved to a 5 bed detached thanks to the crash.

But dont have the money in the bank to pay it off:(:)

But I feel for the people who live in london etc yet even if prices drop 50% most of the young would still never be able to buy.

Exactly me old cocker. And this is why I am a total bear. Where I lived was just outside of London and I guessing the early 80`s £22k was a goodly sum. Inflation linked we don`t earn that amount now. Yet I tell you, in this town you could still buy for around £45k a 3 bed terrace in about 1996. Do ya sums. That works on an income of £15k a year. Pretty darn doable. The same property that I am thinking of ( and in a great need of updating ) went for £160k last year. That would require an income at 3 times a little over £50k. Doesn`t make a lot of sense to me.
I`m also going to temper that with what`s going on at the moment. I am one of very many in this country who is self employed. Now 3 years ago I would have any lender fall over themselves to lend me at 3 times my personal income, nearly £150k. A lot of money I am sure you will agree. Even dafter, some would lend me closer to £300k at 6 times income. In fact they wouldn`t because of my age but I think you know where I am coming from.
Well imagine even at 3 times I would be in a pretty serious position now, the way business has dropped off. I have various self employed friends / relatives and not one isn`t complaining. This is one reason why I warned years ago. At my age I am sadly to aware of the down cycle. Goodness, to reduce interest rates to 1% is an indication of how far the bubble has grown.

I just hope all this works out OK. From where I am sitting it`s not looking very pretty.

I haven't read all the posts today.......there is deffo something in the water though.......but you are going to have a hard task meeting my late night thanks count...my 'Ode to NDG'.
It was written impulsively and was jusy waht came out of my brain (which is a bit whacked at the moment)...and I spelt her acronym name wrongly...but, IF i edit it, I lose mountains of thanks.

On a serious note, some folks can feel quite threatened by intelligent people. mums that can juggle all the responsibilities of a demanding job, hubby and toddler, then they take the time to advise others for free. Some judged that use of time...but she chose not to vedge out in front of Eastenders or whatever, but interract with folks on this forum. So what.

And I really don't want to get personal but Pickled Pink...would you just F*** O**.

I have had it up to here with shallow, trivial people attacking decent people.
Sometimes it's funny ha ha, but the edit button saved you from humilation.

So please, pretty please. F*** O**ff.

I suggest you DO want to get personal, FC!! What does FC stand for, I wonder?:p Let me guess.............hmmmm.... I'd better not say - I wouldn't want to get personal WITH YOU!:p

Anyway, seeing as you're a moody, miserable moobag I shan't add to your aggravation. :p Sounds like you have enough to contend with fighting your pent up fury and bitterness. You should invest in a punchbag and take your frustration out on that - it's not my fault you're discontented with your life!:money:

I hope you have a calm and peaceful weekend.:D
