Glad you have got the dongle, I might get one for occasional use when out and about. The Vodaphone one sounds good as I dont want one that needs monthly top up/expires after 30 days. Not needing a contract currently as can once I work out how use my router here for internet access on the netbook.
Will did out discs that came with my phone to check if I can use the phone as a modem but will prob get a dongle on PAYG.
Going on holiday at Easter to Lyme Regis in Dorset and internet would be good but from coverage maps does not look like there is cover or 3g there:rolleyes:

During testing it cost me about £1 for 100kB downloaded, so I need to explore my network providers offerings to bring the cost down unless it's going to be only very very sporadic use.
It's not entirely straightforward - you need to enter various settings into your netbook to enable it to use your phone as a modem. Which network are you on? I can now help if it's T-mobile!... but I just found out by spending some time googling for "modem t-mobile phone" etc, and got the answer that way. The settings vary by network.
Hi I am on 02 network, and have been searching for its setting but cannot find anyting on it.0 -

Settings for all networks here. The settings for 3G are the same for GPRS.
