Hi I also use the Cashplus card, havent had any problems with it and use it mainly for internet grocery shopping. They do charge 4.99 a month but if you havent put any money on the card and dont have it on your card they wont try to take it or take off more than one month the following month. You can top up for free at post offices and it takes 24 hours to top up except if you do it on a friday or saturday it will take about 2 days. or at some newsagents you can top up up to £150 for a £2 fee but its on your card within 15 mins. I had my wallet stolen last year and the customer service was good they froze the card and sent me a new one then unfroze it.BR as of 16th March 2009Ready to start a new chapter in my life:j0

Hi there, i have a Paypal pre paid card and i find it excellent for what i want.
It costs £4.95 to buy the card and its valid for 2 years.
It charges a £1 fee per cash load at paypoints & post offices, no charge for using your card in the UK, no annual or monthly fee.
I have found it so useful for internet shopping, and its also safe, because if your card is compromised/cloned then you will only lose what is on the card. I only load it up just before i am going online and spend it immediately.0 -
Mercman, No you cannot use the co-op card at Tesco Pay@Pumps as i tried last week and it was made worse that i had got in a Pay@Pump lane only so had to go round and come back into the petrol station i did look like an idiot i can tell you that.:cheesy: K2nga :cheesy:

Anyone using one of these, and which is the best to get? Just planning ahead. Found out today that Tesco Pay@the Pumps do not accept Electron or Solo cards. They used but not any more so I think I need to get PP Credit Card.
Just wanted to echo k2nga about the Co-op card. It is NOT accepted at Tesco pay @ pump. You also cannot ust it for online shopping. It is useable in the store however.
Tesco unlike many other retailers, Asda, Argos, Amazon, Sainsburys etc, seem to have technology produced around the time of the Ark, and are stuck there. I think all their cash goes on advertising rather than updating their technology!LBM:FEB 2008

Ha Ha i could not agree more they are way behind.
I did use my card in the petrol station kiosk and the lady said if only you knew how many times it happens with Electron cards.
What annoyed me was it never said at the Pay@pump only lane that they dont accept certain cards.:cheesy: K2nga :cheesy:

Well, you have all persuaded me.... I am absolutely paranoid about my Electron card being refused somewhere when I am at the front of a long queue! Ugh!
I am going to get a Paypal card and carry a smallish amount on it for "emergencies" ... can't bear the thought of having to endure not being able to pay.

Hi there,
We are talking about prepaid cards on here, of which Paypal is one of them. We are not discussing ebay or Paypal payments - sorry.
Email Paypal and tell them if you are still in dispute, this is what they want to know - some people receive the item after they have started the dispute and therefore there is no action required.

I can second the Paypal pre paid card. Hubby and I both have one, we also both have paypal accounts too for ease. I tend to top ours up at the pay points its much easier, it does incur a £1 fee but it goes on straight away, whereas with transferring from the paypal account or via debit card it has taken a good couple of days to go through.
I found alot of them had far to high monthly charges etc, whereas with Paypal has posters above have said you pay the one off £4.95 and thats it, no monthly charges nothing, plus you can keep up to date with it via online access.0 -
hi all
Just wanted to let you know I received a text this morning from cash plus mastercard letting me know my account had been loaded. I put the money on last weekend and it took 3 working days to arrive.
I have just done my first online shopping at tesco since the christmas shop! oo so excited :-)
It felt strange too, did another budget shop trying to cut down on our spending. Did treat myself to a DVD though double one for £7, I think all the offers I chose instead of regular brands paid for that!
Just hope I dont get a call on saturday saying my card hasnt gone through and 'do you have another payment method'0
