Retail -if so what type ?
Any employees ?
Sole trader or limited company ?
Any business premises ?

maclean2: Thanks for your reply, well im a sole trader electricain and general building maintanence is my thing. From time to time i will have the help of sub contractors but at the moment no employees. It is a new business and i wan't to do it right. To save money in the early days I run this from home.

Have you looked at the Small Biz & Charity Board?

There is a sticky there for a utility broker, ie someone who will negotiate your gas and electric supplies for businesses, think they also do phones. But if you're running your business from home I'm not sure that's what you need, would have thought uswitch would have been OK.

There is a lot of stuff on that board, including a sticky about starting a new business.
