Porting number to O2

If I port my number to O2 monthly sim only, do i do it at the time of ordering online, or do I call them up afterwards?

At the time of ordering. Only orange and t-mobile let you port later

at what stage does it ask? im upto stage 4 payment and no sign of where to enter a pac code

I ported a number into Vodaphone in January - several months after starting with them. Last year I also ported a number into Virgin again several weeks after starting with them. If in doubt, give a ring before hand.
