Luc as you seems to be quite good with knowing about freezing stuff, do you know if you can freeze potatoes and would you have to cook them first i have a bag of charlottes and a bag of roosters that i wont be using and i dont really want to theow them away.

You can freeze potatoes if you've either cooked them first or par boiled/blanched them. Mash always looks really watery when you defrost it but give it a good stir as you heat it and it'll be fine. I par boil big bags of potatoes and then bung a handfull in to hot oil for roasties
IA - lucky you with the snow - we're not set to get anymore now "Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -

<Maz looks around to check she's not stepped into Oldstyle by mistake>
Nope, just a bunch of domestic goddess types in DFW!!
On the subject of saving things in the freezer... whenever i chop onions i always end up freezing half of it, very handy for making mince and other such things.. never done it with peppers though... and peppers have been known to go off in our house so useful to know!
In true frugal style-eee - I do often snaffle some extra pieces of pepperoni off pizzas before cooking and store away so that i can add to plain cheese pizzas if bought by mistake or on BOGOF's.... i figure noone knows how much pepperoni was on them to start with, and who's gonna notice a few bit missing! lol!!!!I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -
looks like it's Thursday into Friday for here........but I'm guessing not as bad as we've had already. It was mad seeing it still snowing last night!

To be honest its mostly trial and error... If a veg looks close to binnable I've whacked it in the freezer and then taken pot luck when I want to use it...
The Old style board is the place to go for a definite answer. I've frozen mash before and potatoes IN something IYSWIM but not sure if you could freeze them raw - I think you'd at least have to parboil them...
Edit - ooops Pooky beat me to it. Seems I was on the right track though |:p26.2.19/14.1.19: T MC 3629.26/3629.26 : VM 0% 1050/13876.59 : W 0% 100/1485 = 4409.26/18990.85 =25.17%28.1.19/28.1.19 Hubs 0% £400/£2,977 =13.44%SPC 2019 #073
