Hey everyone- hope everyone is keeping warm and well. There is no snow here at the mo but loads yesterday. I had to walk home in the dark with the kiddies and there were loads of tyre marks in the snow where cars were coming off the road! It took ages because everytime I heard a car I had to stop and make sure the kids were safe before we could proceed.

    1) Scratchie x 10p
    2) Received £12 e-voucher from Toluna which I will save for buying a present.
    3) Walked to work and back thus saving fuel. (only cos it was too blimmin cold for my car to start again)
    4) Did weekly Tesco shop for family and only spent £42 and used about £4 MOCs. I didn't even glance at the toileteries aisle because I probably have enough to last us for the next five years.Still wanted to though.
5)Will look online later for cheap ways to keep kids entertained at half-term.

I'm off to watch Relocation starring my secret love Phil Spencer. I hear he is having credit crunch worries at the mo and I want to take him in my arms and tell him that it's all going to be ok.:o

    Have a good evening!

    receipe per my mum with added translations by me;

big blob of butter (about 2oz could also be marg)
enough sugar - brown (about 2 oz again, can be white if you don't have brown)
heat together in microwave and mix.
mix in 'enough' raisins/sultana's (soaks up the butter & sugar and makes a thick mixture, probably 2-3 oz if not a bit more)
block of flaky pastry (i used 340g but mum was talking about 1lb/445g)
cut it in half, then cut each half into 4 - 6 bits (depends on the size)
roll out each bit to 4" 'roundy squares', put a dollop of fruit mixture in each.
Milk round the sides and fold in together.
turn over and roll lightly, cut 2-3 slits in the top, milk the top and sprinkle on some more sugar
    at 180 C cook until 'cooked' (this is about 10 - 15mins)

my cooker is now squeeking at me so i'll run and check them, hope they're fine.
  • I finally managed to get some work done today. Mind you, it does sound like it's merely a window in the weather rather than the start of a good run. In order to assist cashflow, I concentrated on the jobs where the customers are usually in and also pay in cash. Picked up a new job worth £112 a year but came home to find out I had lost one worth £100 a year. Such is life. Mind you, the one I lost is because the guy is moving and he's left my details with the new owners so hopefully it won't be a loss at all.
Also, went shopping and only bought bargains (except for that slab of white Belgian chocolate.)

    I must stop eating chocolate.
