Which Broadband Provider?

Hi, I wonder if you can help?
My Broadband contract has just come up with Madasafish.com and I'm looking to change providers, as I wasnt very happy with their customer service and the speeds that I was receiving.
I've got an O2 mobile and I've seen a discounted premium home package of £9.79, with speeds up to 20Mb. Which is cheaper than what I had before. But what are peoples opinions of the service they offer. Have people had any problems?
I also have Sky TV, and know from a couple of people that the Sky Broadband (up to 8Mb)is quite good. It's relatively cheap too.
From peoples experiences, is either of the packages better than the other? Or should I go somewhere else..
I had Tiscali in the past and I didnt like them. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

check at samknows.com to see if either, or both sky or O2 are in the LLU column at your exchange...if they are, then either is a good bet.Utinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant.0

Hi
After a horrible experience 18 months ago with BT's Indian call centre, I consistently refused any discounted rates offered to me by BT which would lock me into another contract with them. The day finally came when my internet connection failed and it took me 7 days and numerous phone calls to their Indian call centre to get my internet connection back up and running, only to find out that my router was faulty and I would have to buy another one.
Anyway, moved to o2, and because I have their mobile dongle (£15.00 per month), i get home broadband free for three months, then £7.49 per month. The speed in fantastic - between 14 and 20 meg.
But, the most important thing is an English call centre - it is sheer bliss to talk to someone who understands what I am trying to say and makes every effort to sort out any problems/answer any queries.
Meanwhile, although I no longer have BT broadband, they refuse to believe me and so will not reduce my direct debit and they want to charge me a disconnection fee of £18.11. Despite this, I told them to disconnect my broadband (but not my phone line) because after checking with o2 I knew the change had taken place. I recorded the call to BT asking them to disconnect me, so I await with interest the next stage of BT's game to squeeze the last penny they can out of me. AWFUL AWFUL company.0 -
Another vote for O2;)
I've used Orange and Virgin in the past but the CS was very poor.0 -
O2 is brilliant. I pay for 8meg and last evening I was getting nearly 9 and upload was about 800K. I joined them only a couple of weeks ago having got utterly fed up with the abysmal service offered by Virgin - also their endless carping because of my heavy use.
In fact, yesterday O2 emailed me to tell me that they can now offer up to 15meg but that would be the next tier price-wise and I am happy with what I have at #7.64 a month (I get a discount as an O2 mobile user)0 -
Its difficult to say which broadband provider is the best for you as all broadband service providers are now coming up with attractive tariffs and broadband deals. It is always good to read reviews and other information about the service provider before availing service. There are numbers of online comparison sites where you can read and compare reviews, packages and other necessary information about the broadband providers. Try these sites http://www.broadbandchoices.co.uk/ http://www.shopcorn.co.uk/broadband/index.aspx http://www.moneysupermarket.com/broadband/

Have you seen the most famous scene in Sexy Beast? Where Sir Ben Kingsley is talking to Ray Winstone?
That's what I would say to anyone thinking of joining TalkTalk0
