Mitsubishi Eco dans cylinder (Gledhills), that is being used in package has gone into administration. So just to let you all know.
cheers:beer:
Gledhills might be in adminstation they were just one of the distributers of the Mitsi Eco system developed by Mitsubishi.
There are many more distributers that stock this.
So your post is very misleading and its as if you are trying to promote your own product!! HMMM...If you found my post helpful, please remember to press the THANKS button! --->0 -
The gledhill system is in two parts. A Mitsubishi HP, made my Mitsubishi funnily enough, and you can thus still buy the HP no problems. Gledhill make the thermal store that stores the hot water and interfaces with the central heating and controls the HP. You can still buy the Mitsubishi control units and create your own thermal store if you so wished.0

My understanding is exactly the same as samtheman.
Gledhill are not distributers. - http://www.gledhill.net/ They are manufacturers who make a host of tanks for CH, thermal stores etc.- and Mitsubishi use their thermal store in the EcoDan system.
Now presumably if Gledhill stop trading altogether(i.e. not taken over) what happens to the EcoDan system?
Although it was marketed as a Mitsubishi heating system, was this in essence a Gledhill product?(I have no idea)
Or will Mitsubish just use another thermal store?
Or has the EcoDan system bitten the dust?
Whilst the spam element of post 22 should be removed, the quoted COP at 7C or 20C comment is interesting.
For all the posts on here, we have still no idea of actual, achievable, COPs for ASHP systems.
There is too much hot air surrounding ASHPs! and not enough hard information -(I don't have to point out that the pun was intentional do I?)0 -
I think Mitsi will use another supplier for the tank etc.If you found my post helpful, please remember to press the THANKS button! --->0

What makes you think that?0 -
Well it makes sense to do so!
Its only a part of the system, same as if a component of your boiler was to stop being made by the chosen supplier the manufacturer would then choose someoen else to then supply that part.If you found my post helpful, please remember to press the THANKS button! --->0 -
I am using my Ecodan with an OSO cylinder interfaced with mitsi's FTC flow temperature controller, works fine, never trusted gledhill anyway, I have heard it has a bad reputation with heating engineers. There are three types of people in this world...those that can count ...and those that can't!

I think that the relationship was more the other way round, i.e. Gledhill designed a system that required a HP and choose Mitsubishi as the HP to interface with their thermal store as opposed to Mit chosing Gledhill to design a thermal store to inteface with their HP. If any other thermal store manufacturers' want to design a thermal store they can also use the Mit HP.
In terms of using a HP, the HP is just replacing a standard Gas/oil boiler so it can be used by anyone theoretically.0
