New Jobs at Pontin's

My grandparents used to take me to the now closed Pontins Middleton Tower camp in the late 1980s/early 1990s. It was a bit run down in places, but I enjoyed myself there as a kid. There used to a flow of Blue/Red coats into showbiz in the old days

but I am not so sure that is true nowadays. The added bonus of going there is that I get all the jokes in 'Phoenix Nights'.Politics is not the art of the possible. It consists of choosing between the disastrous and the unpalatable. J. K. Galbraith0 -

Pontins- ah fond memories
My Dads employer used to take over Pontins for a long weekend each year when we were kids, what a fantastic holiday we had each year. I think we still have some glass tumblers I won on the bingo somewhere! I'll wait till they've spent some money on the accomodation though as it looks the same as when we were there 25 years ago (that makes me feel old!)
They have a good oportunity to cash in on some nostalgia but people's expectations have gone up with regards to the accomodation, and why not.
I still laugh at the 'On the busses' holiday which went to prestatyn i think 'Olive' I 'ate you Stan Butler0 -
