My old tv gave up and forced me to find a new one. This is my first flat screen tv.
Saw Argos Ad yesterday for the 32' ALba LCD and got it in the morning. Well impressed for the money. Paid 269 pounds
Can not afford Top End TV, so all in all I think it was a good choice.0 -
Just got a 23 inch Bush with integrated DVD and freeview for £159 at Argos ,its not bad atall ,son is well pleased with it0

If anyone wants an 20 to 24 inch screen, go for an LG 22" inch M227WD from Dixons or Pixmania. Amazing TV. Once the FW is unlocked, stick on an external HDD or Memory Stick via USB and you can listen to mp3s, browse photos, and even watch divx!0

Can anyone give me some advise on a cheap LCD or Plasma, preferably 42" for living room. Dont really want to spend more than £400... any advice would be welcome. Thanks, Beckie ps - my current plasma has a tuner box so only one wire from tv on wall to hide. Are these still available or will I have to hide all the wires and link them directly to the tele? Thanks in advance!0

Couple of questions regarding the Aldi offer
I am interested in the recording to USB, does this mean what it says? I would like record programs to USB to view on my netbook.
Are their larger screen TVs that have this facilitity?
Thanks0 -

I saw this recently, http://www.sainsburys.co.uk/sol/shop/technology/televisions/plasma/113772947_samsung_ps42b430_42_hd_ready_digital_plasma_tv_black.html
Which is a little over your budget but might be a good buy. It is a plasma still which are not the most conservative on power consumption.
From what I have seen over the past few days (been looking for a 32" TV myself) you may struggle to get a 42" for less than £400 or if you do it could be a low spec one.
Hopefully someone better qualified will come along and point you in the direction of a bargain though!!2010 is the year of bargain shopping! Time to money save, exercise and plan! I like to keep busy0 -

The Aldi TV is indeed a fantastic price, especially with the 3 year warranty. The TV will indeed record programmes to the USB stick like you need. However you will need to install some software in order to view the recordings on your netbook (google for 'Free TS player). Tesco do a range of Technika TVs which also have this function, some are lareger screen such as this one http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.206-6760.aspx0 -
just purchased the toshiba 32" (32AV615DB ) from amazon at a respectable £299 delivered0
