Did you provide sort code and account number of said account?
However, they "found" the account after I advised about the statement and 'phoned yesterday to tell me a cheque was in the post - it arrived this morning. Now for that outstanding 1p(not really, they can definately have that)

...should i really be closing them?
I have left my open for years after moving to Smile.co.uk. Its sat at zero balance all that time. However, I'm concerned that having too many accounts open (with credit facilities) may affect my credit score in the future (don't want to miss a chance to get a 0% card!). So, I am now considering to close all my unused accounts (bank and credit cards).
Any one know if / how much this would affect credit scoring for credit cards, future mortgages, etc?
