Excellent, where do you help and in what capacity?

    why?
I say its interesting because some of the rescue centres that have been mentioned by some members on here dont actually do any homechecks at all.....and I thought they WERE good ones.

Its just goes to show that not all best laid out plans can be carried out all the time.....no matter how much people argue about them.

When I got my last boy, whilst I was happy to have a home visit, none could be arranged - the dog was over a hundred miles away in a rescue and they couldnt find anyone, including a big local national to do a check. Rather than lose what they felt was a decent home, they asked me to supply photos of the house, the area he would be sleeping (erm, everywhere :)) and the garden fencing - a quarter of acre of it :) I then got a reference from the vet we had had for over 20 years and he was very kind about us :) (probably cos we had financed a couple of holidays in that time for him).

I was also involved in the rescue group that he had came from so I guess that was also brownie points and I said if they wanted a follow up home check when they found someone, I was happy to have it.

Had a lovely weekend visiting a few rescues in our area but as yet no new addition to the family.A few pups but mainly huge dogs eg Mastiffs,American bulldogs etc.Had a bit of a love affair going on with through the bars with a huge gsd x but we've got to be sensible re our shift patterns and what would be best for the dog.So not really looking at working dogs.Saw a lovely giant schnauzer but to big for us,the house and the garden:D The ones that did fit age temperament cats etc were already waiting to go home after passing home checks. Not to worry though everything happens for a reason, better to wait for the right match im sure it will happen soon;) In the meantime im having lots of fun looking.
