Being hounded by a buyer wanting to pay via Western Union

I sold a DVD on Ebay to a guy from Hungary, (6 feedbacks, 100%). He was going on and on at me to accept Western Union. I said to him that i dont accept it and dont want to. He pressed and pressed saying the money has been sent and its waiting so i ignored an he gave me a negative feedback. I called Ebay and asked if they could remove the feedback as clearly Western Union isnt a method of payment that i accept in my business/listings (and the whole legal contract agreement you enter when you purchase an item). Ebay (as usual) say they cant do nothing about it but said that i should start a 'payment not recieved' claim which i duly did. His rants during this process have continued (ive had to use an online translation website to understand him), his latest one was along the lines that i have his money, and now he has started an 'item not recieved' against me.
Whats the best thats going to come of this? Am i simply going to be left with a negative feedback and a strike against my account for doing absolutely nothing wrong? Will Ebay help me in anyway? Thanks in advance

Why not just go to a WU office and collect the money?
Why would you not want to???"Love you Dave Brooker! x"

Because i'm not near one and shouldnt have to even if i was. My payment methods that i use are listed on my listing. Seems a bit odd though that he's claiming it has been collected...0 -

Aren't they all over the place?
Americans used to like to pay for ebay stuff back before Paypal's owners, Ebay told everyone that all other payment methods other than Paypal were dangerous...."Love you Dave Brooker! x"

Perhaps they are, i dont know. But at this moment i only want to accept the payments that i have listed which im perfectly entitled to do. I wouldnt buy something from you and hound you to accept a form of payment that your not sure about. I would at least have the courtesey to ask before i bought the product.
As i said previously, it says it all now that he is claiming the money has been collected.
But to my initial question(s), will Ebay do anything to help bearing in mind that he has opened the claim stating he used WU to pay for it even though it is not listed as one of my payment options?0 -
Western Union payments can be delivered direct to you. I think it's an extra £4.0

You should have just taken his money, there was no risk to you, and now you've lost the sale and got negged.
Sometimes it pays to be flexible."Love you Dave Brooker! x"

No doubt but theres nothing i can do about it now. I just wanted to know what the possible outcome of the claim might be. Can Ebay help in this situation? In his claim he has stated payment by WU even though it isnt listed in my listing as an accepted method of payment. Hasnt he entered a legal contract to buy an item on the terms of its listing?0 -
I don't have any experience on what would happen with the outcome, but I would firstly keep on to ebay about the negative as I have heard of people from here having negs removed when its genuine like this, and also reply to the negative with something along the lines of "buyer wanted to pay with payment not specified, SCAMMER"
I don't think it would have mattered if you went to collect the money, its likely it would not have been there when you got to a pay point, he said it had been claimed, it was probably by his mate.0 -
There are a lot of WU offices around..ours local small newsagent is one...if you look carefully you will see their logo outside many shops. I would have tried to pick itup to be honest, but as for eBay helping...never known it yetTO FINISH LAST, FIRST YOU HAVE TO FINISH....0

Firstly why should the OP accept Western Union when he says he does not wish to? Are we saying then that buyers now dictate to us how they wish to pay and that we just say 'OK then' and let them send camels or bag loads of coins?
Forget Western Union the OP said no to it.
OP, I read it that you have opened a full NPB and that the buyer has responded. In that case close the dispute choosing the option that gives you your FVFs back and the buyer a strike, make sure you don't opt for any other option.
Then go back to ebay and insist they re look at the feedback as once you have a dispute closed on a buyer there ar enew grounds to have the negative removed, be persistent, use their own report system to work on the neg. Don't forget as well to block the buyer from bidding on anything else of yours.
Then make sure your seller preferences are set properly to exclude bidders with two or more strikes, that is remarkably effective, many of these buyers tend to be serial offendors .
When did the buyer register on ebay and how much feedback do they have and have they been buying more items for which feedback has not yet been left? There s a chance that this buyer is already borderline for suspension, if they are newish and get suspended the neg goes anyway.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
