what does it mean to flash your phone with firmware?

It's basically a software upgrade.
Like people with a SE K750i can flash it to SE W800i, (put SE W800i software onto the K750i).
The N70 is a new-ish smartphone, i'm not sure if it would be a good idea to flash it.
Plus there is no new nokia phone to flash it with, it'd have to be a Nokia N80, N91 etc... but their not out yet. Smile, you only get one life, LIVE IT.0 -
sometimes the firmware is for the same phone version, it's not always about changing the software on one phone to another. Like with other hardware, occasionally Nokia/SE realise they have left bugs in sfotware so release fixes via their service centres/websites which require the firmware to be updated to take effect0

if you take it to nokia repair center (see nokia site for your nearest) or cpw they will upgrade to latest for free while in warrenty
(say youve been experiencing some of the bugs shown in the link above)0
