Ihave to admit to using normal shampoo for me on my doggy. He's only bathed twice a year so it doesn't hurt. It's only a mild one though.0

are you sure she hasnt got bunged up anal glands? I only wash my dog when she has rolled in something very wrong, so sometimes she wont be bathed for 3 months and she does not pong. Do you really bath her once a week??
I use wilko puppy shampoo and conditioner with aloe very - its fine and not too expensive!0 -
Hiya, I dunno of any good shampoos but Dogs shouldn't be bathed weekly, agree with FC, could it be gher anal glands? Does she scoot?0

I've got a little dog too and know how grubby & smelly they can get. Mine's a roller, rolls in ANYTHING! I tend to give him a bath once every 8 or 9 weeks. Have been advised it's not good for their skin to be bathed too often. I tend to vary the make of shampoo but usually like to use flea shampoo but it depends on your preference. There are so many different ones on the market it might come down to personal choice. I do use a spray called Velvet Coat which smells wonderful and that might help disguise any dodgy smells and it makes his coat feel even more silky.0

My Lhasa smells pongy too not many days after a bath. Just very 'doggy'. Not sure about the anal glands - I've googled it and it says they have a fishy smell (bleuch!). Can't say I've noticed a fishy smell - as I said just doggy. I have to bath her every 2 weeks-ish??0

maybe its just a fluffy dog thing? I dunno, Ive never had a fluffy doggo, but in general they do seem to be more doggy smelling than smooth coated dogs?0

my dogs smell worse after being bathed with dog shampoo, so i just use Smart Price baby shampoo now.0

when i went to view my 4 year old long coated black gsd the whole house had that doggy smell. When i went to collect her a while later she had just had a bath, came to us and within days was pongy. 10 months on she doesn't smell at all unless she has rolled in stuff. but she gets load of outdoor free running and tearing through woods and bracket. I would like to say i paid attention to grooming but i don't really only when she changes her coat which is horrendous but fairly quick. whether the bracket and woods and splashing through puddles and brooks has left its own smell or just everything changed in her lifestyle i cant say but. When your wee beastie starts to come of age to get out and see life it may just go away on its own. maybe just a temporary puppy thing. good luck, would like to post a photo of her but dont know how.0

Toby our Golden lab only wash with Shampoo maybe twice a year. He loves swimming in the river even when it's freezzzing outside. We keep some generic dog shampoo from Tesco and it's doing the job, however he never really have bad smells coming off him :TFive exclamation marks the sure sign of an insane mind!!!!!

If your dog is ponging only a day after a bath - a trip to the vet is advised. Theres plenty of skin complaints that make dogs smell more then they should so its always worth checking her out0
