But Asda and Tesco are cheap in respect of clothing-i buy a lot of clothes from there especially the kids because its nice and its cheap too.
Its the price of food that annoys me,thats how they seem to make up for it by hiking up their food prices at a ridiculous amount and sometimes overnight
Personally, I think asda is cheap in both clothing and Food. I hate tescos, so i am stuck to asda!
Tesco dont need to give us £45 credit do they  why not spend the extra £30 on putting prices down. Thats what !!!!es me off. They spend so much on adverts etc and then put prices up. Asda Said they wouldn't make a reward scheme as they wanted to pass on the savings, but still sometimes you find better deals in Morrisions. So its depends on the supplier and there agreement with the super markets.
Bit annoying but it's business and there in it for the money not to help you :j I swear if i had 1 billion pounds i could start a better super market then all of them.
So this whole woolworths thing is a massive publicity stunt for the owner of littlewoods, and he knows if i get the name then i will get soo much. Just the other day i was saying if someone bought woolworths it would be worth it as it has got so much publicity this year. All the crap about it being british and stuff is just lies and kinda annoying.0 -

TIA
The supplier was most probably chinese, try alibaba.com0 -

So, really, not very good at retailing - and the saviour of anything - be it Woolies, jobs or anything else.
Although, the Littlewoods family did warn us - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/2780805.stm0 -
Thanks for the links Tin, what a shame for the chap who owed Littlewoods but at least he was honest about it. Do you think he meant fighting amongst the family? I do use them for stuff in the sales or if there is a code knocking around or if I cannot get something elsewhere, but generally I tend to stay away and do not buy anything on credit. I used to when I was with Kays as I used to buy in the sales for my business and as it was interest free I would spread the cost and get commission and save a little more. But when it went over to Shop Direct my available credit went down from £6,000 to £0 overnight. I guess they did not need my business knowing I never paid any interest on the stuff so I made a final payment, got my commission out of them and have never used Kays again, I get the stuff I want from Additions Direct as you get the same 8% on Quidco and it is cheaper than via Kays or Littlewoods as they do not run 'accounts' on the AD site.0

I think that some peoples excitement is a little premature.
Shop Direct has purchased the Woolworths brand name, but that doesn't mean that we'll see branches of Woolworths opening up anytime soon, if ever. The most likely scenario is that Shop Direct will use the the brand name to open an online only store.
But it will just be a cosy name, with no links to the past.We have removed your signature - please contact the forum team if you are not sure why - Forum Team0 -
Totally agree with the Shop Direct comments, if its anything like what they've done in the past with other "Names" they've snapped up like Littlewoods et call they'll do is make another (almost carbon copy) website of their existing ones and slap a Woolworths logo on it.
Its very annoying, just anther online shop, with the same products with different prices that really doesn’t have to be there….
….apart from increasing their territory on price comparison websites that is ie…
Woolworths
Kays
Littlewoods
Littlewoods Direct
Etc
Etc
Etc
Whatever happens you’ll no doubt get some die hard Woolies fan paying 10% more than the Littlewoods price just because it says Woolies! lol
Just the same as you’ll get others in denial, saying no it really is coming back…. right then.:rolleyes:0 -
TBH I don't think it will work anyway, Woolies online strategy was a mess so they never gained a reputation for online sales. They were that shop on the high street that sells everything and nothing to most people - not an online destination.0

Additions Direct is also owned by shop direct!
also additions do run accounts but they also give the option of paying by cardWins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0 -

Ah yes, I see they have also added the option to suck people in on credit. Here is how it works:
The Direct sites such as Additions Direct and Littlewoods Direct you can set up an account but you pay interest each month (typical 39%).
Or you can buy from Littlewoods, Kays, MW, etc... and get 0% interest over 20-40 weeks but pay 20-30% more for each item you buy.0 -
bringing back the woolies name IMO is like flogging a dead horse ,it failed in the end .They will have a big job changing peoples perception of what it was if there is going to be a glimmer of it working again .Gotta love a good bargain !0
