    Thankyou......

I don't really get to talk to fellow sufferers so I have a few questions. Been diagnosed only a couple of years now but its being going on a lot longer.

Do you find it difficult to determine which symptoms are fibro, which are down to meds and which are down to other health problems? (I have EDS hypermobilty type as well).

Anyone else with excessive sweating? I have had this for ages now, Doc said it was down to meds and pain but having googled it, it looks like it is a part of fibro. So, if you do, how do you cope? It is so ruddy embarrassing!

Why is fibro such a PITA?

Definitely. And you'll find that docs will either put everything down to fibro, or try anything else (and then usually say it's "unexplained") because they either don't believe in fibro or don't know much about it.

Yep - inability to control temperature regulation is a symptom of fibro (and ME which is closely linked) and is a pain in the....well, you get the point ;) I'm also excessively cold at times and have a car full of various thicknesses of cardys/jumpers/jackets etc to try and accomodate. It can be very wearing! Not found much help for the hot side of it except for drinking lots of water.

It wouldn't be any fun any other way I guess...?;)
The tagalong conditions are equally as infuriating and cumbersome, I find, as well as the side-effects of meds...which are also really helpful(!)

I've just had to down my dose of Lyrica/pregabalin because I was getting bladder pains that I just couldn't deal with on top of the IBS as well

Yes, I am going through a bad bout of IBS at the moment as well. Don't know whether to be happy or sad about it. It hurts so bad but it has relieved the constipation from the morphine......... :rotfl:

When I first went to a rheumatologist, he put my fatigue down to being fat, I was 15 stone at the time, he wouldn't listen to me about me being tired all the time when I wasn't fat. Anyway, I lose all the weight and I am still knackered. Ruddy doctors.

And yes, the excessively cold thing, our heating bill in winter is ginormous. It doesn't matter how many clothes/blankets I am using, even if the heating is turned right up, I am still so cold. I totally do in DHs nut lol!

My brother (who also has IBS) sometimes looks at me in horror at what I'll eat...but he doesn't realise that sometimes the effects of certain foods brings a welcome relief from the effects of other meds!! :rotfl:

Don't get me started on the weight thing. Oh to be 15st again...:o I had to stop all my meds (that help control the symptoms) to go on a appetite suppressant that they swore would help me....it was agony dealing with life without the meds...and on top of that I was hungry all the time!!!

I'm always on the look out for things that will keep the aches at bay - esp joints like wrists and ankles (I also have Raynaulds (sp?) so I've found out - which is poor circulation to extremities...and therefore coldness!) so I have some elbow length mittens and fur lined boots, with ankle covering Converse All Stars for the summer now... Good excuse for some shopping tho ;) :shhh:

    morning everyone

sharon glad the steroids are helping, not long now until they all get there.

tiresix welcome, they are a friendly bunch in here.

bz do we get to see ring pictures (when you have recovered enough to take them of course) or are the being kept to be shown after they are on fingers?

cwta how are you feeling today?
  • Morning all
pcl Feeling much better thanks and am on the mend. You OK?

Tiresix Yes. Yes. Yes!! The thing that gets me down the most is the excessive sweating and the inability to regulate my temp. I'm the other way and struggle to stay cool enough although it does save a fortune on the heating.

bz My first wedding, I wasn't even gonna get my hair done specially but in the end had a cut and b/d the day before - Registry Office jobbie. Think I must have known sommat, eh? *g*
Second wedding was on a beach in Menorca so was very low key and was even more of a mistake *g* It was more of a handfasting than a proper wedding iyswim.
I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to break :D
