Guys, I'm happy to be told I'm jumping the gun here, but I have this little niggle that's just not going away.
I bought an item last Monday (BIN and paid immediately by Paypal). On auction page, seller said he would dispatch within 24 hours of receiving payment using 24 hour courier. Postage was nearly a tenner.
I thought it might be with me around Friday at the latest, but no sign so I emailed the seller over the weekend and asked (nicely) if he could give me an idea of when the item would be dispatched. I haven't had a reply so far.
Today, I notice his feedback now has an angry neg from someone saying he has waited 10 days and has nothing.
There's maybe no problem at all but I just feel that there is.
He was selling several of the same item and no-one has left him feedback for it yet so I'm assuming the other people haven't got their one yet either.
How long do I leave it before really thinking there IS a problem...and what should I do first if there is?
I dont want to cause him any hassle yet as things might just be slow for whatever reason but nor do I want to wait forever for something that was promised quickly.
I'd appreciate your thoughts?

Gut feelings are often right. I would make one more attempt to contact the seller and then maybe open a basic dispute on paypal (not a chargeback yet) in a day or so.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. The seller has just got another neg this afternoon...for the same auction I bought from.
Buyers says in feedback left, that item wont be coming and warns others to start Paypal claim.
Then after that neg, there is at least 6 more saying how good he is.Herman - MP for all!0 -
I think then I would put in a protective chargeback as soon as you are able.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I've just looked at the feedback again, I think it must be a con..
The last lot of pos feedback (straight after the negs) were timed at
17.43pm
17.20pm
17.10pm
17.07pm
17.06pm
16.40pm
16.35pm
16.33pm
Then the last neg at 16.06pm
Bit of a coincidence for all his buyers to suddenly rush to leave feedback all withing minutes of each other. That must be a con, right?Herman - MP for all!0 -

Basically put in a chargeback as soon as you can even though it is early, that shows the seller you mean business .I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. New developments.....started Paypal dispute. Seller answered saying item must have got lost in the post and that it can take up to 7 working days.
Considering the auction page said 24 hour courier delivery that's not right to start with.
Anyway, seller says replacement will be dispatched this morning and I should close the dispute when it arrives.
I messaged back saying I would wait but I've now had a message from another buyer saying he told her, her item (bought from the same auction) was also lost in the post and that he would refund her if she removed the neg she gave him. Someone else was told to wait 7-10 days and not to contact him again until that time was up.
So my questions now are.....will Paypal expect me to wait (as I said I would) or can I escalate things now?
Is there any issue to waiting another week? Is there some ulterior motive this seller could have for keeping me hanging? Is there a certain length of time before he can get the Paypal funds and he wants me to wait until he's withdrawn it all?
I dont know what the catches are so I dont know if I'm being foolish even considering waiting. I do think this is a scam of some sort but I'm so flipping trusting I'm hoping I'm wrong. Just not sure what to do now? The other buyer has already got her claim in.
Thoughts?Herman - MP for all!0 -
If you haven't already done so then escalate the claim to a full paypal chargeback for itme not received. Leave the chargeback open until you either get the goods and are happy with them, ir you get a full refund.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
