Hi all looking for a bit of help or advice
I'm in the midst of composing a letter from martins templates to make a claim against welcome finance. They bumped us big style with their 120% interest rates. Thy loan was for 15,000. They added on £4984.53 for ppi, insurance premiums, acceptance fee (whatever that is) mortgage indemnity fee etc. total amount of loan being £19984.53 (which was what I initially thought we were paying all in....but no no how wrong i was lol there was 120% interest whacked on top of that. Way it was written as the total etc....bla bla bla anyways. Paid loan off after 32 months instead of the original 180. Which when discussed over phone I thought was 120 as it had been 10 year periods I was discussing.
Anyways after all that I was wondering what it means by single premium??
I'm going to attempt getting the ppi bk but I don't wanna muck it up because I really don't understand a lot of the jargon etc its never really been my thing lol
help I'm pulling my hair out its stressing me no end :eek::eek:0 -

Hi there
A single premium is when the insurance is added within the loan, so for instance if the loan was say for 20-25 years, these single policies only protect you for 5 of them, but you would still be paying for the loan term, very costly indeed, and these are frowned upon.
There should be more info on the loan insurance link here:

Went on Companies House search and found these here, if you have any docs which has the same company number, then this would be the address here, but best to make sure first, or wait for someone to confirm this.

Hi Folks, in a dilemma, i sent off my complaint letter to Halifax Credit Card and then recieved a letter yesterday bang on the 8wks deadline. They have said the below;
Im sorry for the delay in responding to your complaint.
Details of your complaint have been referred to Customer Relations for a review in accordance with our Internal Complaints Procedure. We're currently investigating the issues you have raised and will write to you again, Once we're in a position to provide you with a full response.
The delay in providing you with a response to your complaint is due to the fact I am currently awaiting retrieval of the original application/agreement form. Once I am in receipt of this paperwork I will be able to provide you with my decision regarding your complaint. Do i hold off and wait for them to come back to me? If they come back to me with a signed paperwork for the insurance will i then lose my complaint (dont believe i did sign).
Your help and wisdom is greatly appreciated more so as I received a refund from Egg Card a week before Xmas for £2600. :T:money:0 -

Hi there
That is fine.
I would give them say another week and if you hear nothing chase them up.
Of course you do have the opportunity to go to the Financial ombudaman service (FOS) now the 8 weeks have passed, but as they have responded, its now up to you on how long your prepared to wait.;)
Good luck with this and hope you receive a good outcome on this soon.
And Congratulations on your EGG Card reclaim as well.:beer:The one and only "Dizzy Di"0
