    Hi,

I'm trying to re-claim ppi from welcome for 2 accs, I just checked my credit file (i do this monthly) and one of my Welcome balance is £900 lighter than it should be, I'm still waiting to be allocated an adjudicator so I don't know why this is plus the amount doesn't really add up to me. Has anyone else had this?? Would anybody know if the updates to credit reference agencies is done manually and whether it could be an error? I just don't trust Welcome.

    Hiya hun

Write to them and ask them for full calculations on this to find out where that amount has come from.
There are many here who have complaints against these as you know and am sure someone will post up with their experience of this company, good luck hunni.;) X

TURBO - I understand you're the expert ;) - I have looked at some of your previous posts and understand that you need the following information from me. Please could you work out how much I should have been refunded including the 8% statutory interest and explain how the 8% is worked out please? Thanks for your help.

    Re post 2384

Aha-You settled this early--Can you post up the wording & figures from your 2004 settlement letter as these are harder to understand with refunds & rebates

However-assuming you made 12 payments of 30.57 from 26/1/04--8% on each of those comes to £138 at todays date
    aka Calculator

My grandmother started walking five miles a day when she was 60. Now she's 97 years old and we don't know where the hell she is.

you tell them you want to be put back in the position you were before the ppi was added, and you want the premiums on the ppi you have paid to date plus 8% interest , i think i am right on this but if i am wrong someone will tell me and put me straight lol. i just asked what i said above on the letter to fos, i did not mention the 8%, so i hope i will get that as well, dont stress you will do this xx

.... and the balance of the overall loan to be reduced to only that applicable to the original cash loan-with a resulting reduced monthly payment.

Using figures in your post number 2333

I would expect a refund of all the payments
    60 x 109.27 = 6,556.20 + 8% interest (on each pymnt from date paid to 30/3/2009(say) ) which comes to 1,634

    Total = £8,190 + the Compensation of £200

Phew!!---post up when you get your figures !!

By the way--to calculate the 8% interest you can use the Bank Charges Calculator on Martins main site

Wow, that sounds great Turboman, anyone know how long Lloyds take to cough up and how they send the payment, is it via cheque or Bank Transfer?

    Thanks for everyone's help.

Hi I'm fairly new to the forum.

I have been quite successful in claiming 2 old PPI's so far, however First Plus are being a nightmare.

I originally wrote to them to state that the
PPI was missold and surprise surprise they wrote back stating that it was discussed on a telephone conversation.

I have since applied and received a SAR. Again surprise surprise there is missing information. The final conversation in respect of the agreed loan is not on the CD they provided. Although they asked the demand and needs questions on an early recording this was not in respect of the final loan. The salesperson was very pushy and only mentioned 'optional' very quickly in a conversation which he was obviously reading off of a screen.

I got a load of print outs of the screens which I am trying to get my head around, but looking at the final agreement screen print they have put our property at £180,000. We never said this in any conversation. My god if this was the value we would have remortgaged with our mortgage company and not them. Our house at the time was only values at £135,000.

Also in a print out from a property valuation website it states our property is semi detached, 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a garage. I live in a terrace, 3 beds, 1 bathroom and no garage.

I'm starting to wonder whether I was actually mis sold the whole loan and not just the
    PPI.

Would they have given us the loan if our house was put on the application as the correct rate?????

Please please I'm desperate for some advice. I want to write to them and I'm willing to fight every step of the way.

hi there, i think you should get in touch with the fos, if you go on this website firstpluscomplaints.co.uk there are very clever people on there who are only dealing with first plus they have access to lots of valuable information and legal people, they will help you and point you in the right direction good luck with this and dont give up this company want teaching a lesson

    Hi Turbo
Thank you so much for this. I made 11 payments according to Barclays over the period of the loan but I do not have the paperwork from 2004. Really the amount that I was refunded for the PPI and interest I paid on it I am happy with its just the 8% interest they have given me - £13!!!! I thought it should be about £120 so from your calculation on 12 payments of £138 then that would be about right. Thanks a million for all your help.

Hi wonder if anyone can help? I am trying to reclaim £300 worth of PPI which I was missold with a storecard. GE Money run it, and have said 'no' but referred me to the Finance and Leasing Association, not to the Financial Ombudsman. I read on FLA website that the Chairman of the FLA disapproves of the recent PPI ruling, so don't fancy my chances going to them..... anyone know if they are fobbing me off incorrectly?

Hi Magiciansgirl. i was wondering if you had resolved the above issue as i am in the same situation. GE Money have refered me to the FLA and was hoping to see some positive outcomes from other. Any updates would be very much appricated. Thanks
