PPI Reclaiming Discussion part 4

Well, I requested the credit agreements for my 2 egg credit cards and the loan early June and these were duly recieved and the one pound cheques for each agreement was cashed. However yesterday and today I've received 3 letters in total saying that they cannot supply me with the requested credit agreements as they haven't received the £1 required!!!
I've also put in a SAR and the £10 cheque has been cashed but I've not received anything back - but they've still got a couple of weeks before the end of the 40 day turnaround period.
I was a little concerned that there was some confusion about what I had requested so I tried to e-mail them but because of my DMP (I presume) I cannot use the messenger service on my account. So I rang the number supplied on the letters only to be told that it's the wrong department and I need to ring another department which is only open 9-5 (the same time as I work).
Talk about left hand not knowing etc! What a farce.
I have one complaint still outstanding which they said they couldn't find any evidence that I had ppi on my loan. Fortunately I was able to provide them with a statement from less than a year ago that clearly showed the ppi. I've not heard a peep from them since I provided them with the required evidence.
I have another card which had ppi on but I don't have any statements hence the SAR.
It all started off so well as my first complaint was turned around and a refund applied to my account within about 5 days (even though they only refunded for 6 years when the ppi was applied when I got the card in 1999 and I cancelled the ppi 5 years ago).
Sorry for the rant but I'm just a little frustrated at their inadequacies.

My complaint to MBNA was originally 20 January. Apart from an acknowledgement in February I haven't received anything. I have called them and I am just told they are working on the claims and it may take a while...how long is a while???
Hi jackaboy my cmc originally told me that claim would be sorted out by end of june, i think it was around about 5th july when it came back upheld, stick in there mbna's credit cards are nearly always misold. To my knowledge mbna have not been given an fsa extension. (sorry guys i did use a cmc on this one last year,i had'nt found this site then, shame on me i know.)0 -

The banks are a little bit slow when it comes down to giving you information, they hate it when they know you know what your doing and what your rights are, as most people don't even know what a sar is,stick with it,it'll get sorted out. they know what accounts you had ppi on, there just trying it on and hoping you'll go away.0 -
I spoke to a really nice, helpful man this afternoon at Barclaycard re PPI which I had on my credit card for 5-7 years going back from 1995 - 2002ish. I complained to them on 16th June and recieved the standard 16 week later 2 wks ago. He said they had a backlog of 40,000 complaints which were on hold during the JR and they were working their way through them as a priority. 80 new staff has been started and they have also brought more than 100 from other departments to deal with them.
My complaint is due to go to stage 2 tomorrow which according to him means very little. It is actually further down the line it is investigated. His opinion is that me and 99.9% of others will be paid out. He says if they dont deal with them within 8 wks they are fined £500 by the FOS. So he told me come 11th August really start to put the pressure on. He also says they have been told by managers that the busiest time will be in the next 2 wks was that is when they are expecting the complaints to increase tenfold.
I told him what really was pi**ing me off with B/ard was the fact an Indian lady had told me I never had PPI with them and she could see right back! glad I managed to find some old statements, he told me they have call centres in many different places around the world including Manila and India and it is pure luck where you end up!!0 -

hi guys just thought i would share this with you phoned fos to find out how my complaint with hfc was getting on adjudicator upheld my complaint in may but hfc having none of it so it would be passed to ombusman.was told yesterday it's not been passed yet as hsbc who own hfc have been asked by fos to tell them how they are going to deal with backlog of complaints by the timescale so at moment mines is on hold.adjudicator says they should have answer soon i asked him so could we have an answer the same as barclays hopefully paying out all claims he said yes hopefully.i said to him but mines is already been rejected by hfc to which he said they could still turn round and pay me they have seen this lately fingers crossed
This is unusual, revisiting rejected cases and then suddenly upholding them,do the fos say this has been happening?0 -

Total Amount Payable £6292.60
Instalements are to be monthly for a period of 60 mths. Payment to commence 3 mths from the date of signature.
Monthly Instalments £104.91
APR equiv to 9.2%
Section 3 Insurance Details
Insurance Amount £1049.98
Interest £271.82
Total Amount Payable £1321.80
