For those of you who might have had any doubts, the FSCS operation is definitely in headless chicken mode.
I received my cheques on Friday last week for my FRB's. Great! I went to the bank to cash them today ( would have been Monday but it snowed!).
Got back home to find a letter from the FSCS saying 'we have received your form and we are working hard to assess your application as soon as possible.'!0 -

Me too! Bloody snow. The Abbey was shut yesterday. And yes my letter arrived after my cheque.

Although not quite the same as people waiting for their money, I received my funds after claiming online on the 16th of November. 8 weeks later I am still waiting for my certificate and after two letters (and receiving no response even though they asked me to write in) I guess its the complaints process now. I think saying they are in headless chicken mode is being VERY generous to them."A weak currency arises from a weak economy, which in turn is the result of a weak government" - Gordon Brown 1992 -0

12 weeks today and STILL no cheque0

Had an “easy access” isa with a linked account but was sent a paper form to complete. Filled in the paper form and posted back 26 November. Chased up after 6 weeks and after a few emails sent to several FSCS addresses I finally received a reply to say that my form was received on 1 December and that it is being processed. I have now waited 9 weeks and still no cheque!

Me too, 6 month fixed rate account matured Christmas day (!). I received the form in the first batch so I thought I had a decent chance of being reimbursed promptly. Wishful thinking...0
