  • hi all,

the dispute has been escalated to a claim.. i did not think it right for the seller to get them back, leaving me out of pocket and then selleing them on to another person who may not know the difference. there could be harmful products in them..

Molton brown were only to happy to provide a written confirmation and even they said that these were pretty good copies, but they knew the tell tale signs.... shall see what happens..

    ta for all information..
  • hi i escalated mine to a claim but they asked for a letter of proof with correct letter head from timberland, and also they wanted me to send them back with a track-able postage. then they would look at the case again .
the sell said he would only refund once he had them back and had had them checked out his self.
i took the boots to schuh (felt like a right twerp) and they even said they are fake they aren't even leather.!!
in all i wouldn't get anywhere with pay pal and i would of lost money proving they were fake and track able postage , so i cancelled the claim.
i was so annoyed yesterday , that the seller got it his way and i ended up with some crappy boots.

  • i couldnt ebay removed the listing so i couldnt leave feedback.

i would have to send the boots off to timberland , and then i might of had to pay for letter off them conferming they are fake.

but then they said send them back to seller trackable as he would offer refund, once he had had them checked out, and i wasnt going to risk that , he would off been well happy . boots and i doubt he would of refunded.

this is what paypal had asked for me to do.

Numerous posters in this thread have explained that you don't have to send fakes back to the seller.

    For anyone who missed it

You don't have to return fakes
You don't have to return fakes
You don't have to return fakes

Most paypal operatives are dimwits - you just have to keep ringing them until they admit the above.

  • hi guys,

thought i would update you all, paypal asked for the proof and I faxed it to them..it was not added to the account so faxed it again.. nearing the deadline so a but worried,

waiting to see what happens.. fingers crossed :o
  • You should report counterfeits to the Trading Standards department of the local authority (Council) of where you live - where the goods were delivered. They have the authority to investigate on your behalf.
  • well, as promised...thought i would let you all know about my claim..

    i got my money back :j !!

paypal ruled in my favour and the case was closed and i got my money back..

though they have said that no action is required by me so i am left with the items..will bin them..

just wanted to say thanks to everyone for the courage to not back down as i probably would have sent it back to the seller and been out of pocket myself!! Yes it was a bit annoying to deal with it but it wasnt too bad and Molton Brown were only to happy to help.

    thanks guys :money:
  • Keep the bottles and fill them with your own potion of choice. At least they will look nice.

Serves them right for selling fakes!!
