Kerosene for 80p per litre seems quite good price, and also working well. It is more sooty and smells more than paraffin when starting, but once it gets going, it is same as paraffin. No problems. I use it mainly for the garden shed, but when it is really cold, I bring the heater in once it is burning hot, and leave it in the hall.

I needed a standby supply for my greenhouse heater (to be used if (when) the power goes off this winter). I was charged a stunning £8 for a mere 4 litres in a local hardware shop last week.

the cheapest paraffin you will get is at your allotments garden shop normally only a £1 a year to join:T

Mine dont stock or sell paraffin. H&S issues probably prevent it these days.

compassfuels.co.uk will sell you a 200 litre barrel. better than buying 500 litres. Two friends could share the cost. I'm still waiting for a price from them.

Just got a price from compass fuels. A 200L barrel works out to 91p per litre with the VAT. Free delivery.
