gpj Increased diesel prices

Good question, around us it's gone from 94ish to 98ish and I was wondering why0
-
One of the factors will be oil price is measured in $, UK£ is rubbish against the US$ so we are seeing some of this coming through into the pump price.I beep for Robins - Beep Beep
& Choo Choo for trains!!0 -
Have you looked at the oil price chart? The price is up over 10% since the start of the year.0
-
Yes but standard petrol hasn't gone back up, just diesel0

Diesel is usually more expensive in the winter because it is very similar to heating oil. If the cold weather continues expect diesel to increase even more in price.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0

If you look outside with the snow and bitterly cold weather you can see that we are burning fuel oil galore to provide heating and hot water. Petrol is less affected because more petrol can be refined from a barrel of oil than for diesel/fuel oilThe man without a signature.0

Anyone want the real answer....????
its simple.. the oil companies are greedy ****s and are cashing in on the fact that people are scared about the refinery strike etc.... they're also concerned that the oil is running out and they want to make as much money as possible while they can.. its absolutely nothing to do with strong or weak currency, or the fact that its winter.. this is capitalism in action.... find something, make people dependant on it, then squeeze.. drug dealers do exactly the same....0 -

and in last weeks daily express they reckon the goverment is to press ahead with a 2p per litre increase on 1st april, they just added 2p per litre when vat was cut they added this 2p increase so us motorists would not get a reduction in fuel prices, but at end of year when vat rises again the 2p rise will not be taken back off again.RIP OFF BRITAIN0 -

not sure i understand you... i thought it was common practice to get as much as possible in exchange for stuff... and if you have a commodity thats viewed as essential you can basically name your price.... if i were a greedy capitalist i'd currently be putting up the prices of diesel, petrol, fuel oil, etc, especially if i knew i hadn't got a lot left... i'd squeeze as hard as i could...0
