    Shouldn't that read;

    Untrue. A friend of mine did law at Leeds met and got accepted to Oxford to do their MA- if they aren't snobby about it, I dont see why anyone else should be.

    Um, I'm not snobby, its not snobby to expect to be able to find a job after a degree, I'm not asking for it to be handed on a plate.. Really i don't know what this attitude is, there is a big difference between expecting a grad job, and just looking for any job. I cannt find ONE JOB at all, I'm entitled to whinge about the economy, but i'm not resting o my laurel, am applying to at least 6 jobs a day, mainly retail and minimum wage, I have given up on any semblance of office professional

    People who do HE expect to have better job prospects, indeed that is what the government tells us as well, its hardly being snobby expecting this after 3 years of education and an average of £12000 debt.

    yesterday phoned up to volunteer, will probably do a whole day a week and see how it goes from there

    This wouldn't be so bad if i didn't feel so much expectations from my peers and the general public expecting me to be successful

    But did she get funding for it? It's easy to get on a Master's, it's getting the funding that indicates how worthwhile is your degree.

    Masters you can only get funding from the bank, LEA won't lend you.. I think. My sister needed a bank loan for hers

    Yes, Jobcentreplus seems to have a lot of jobs going, but tbh their website seems very unreliable.

    What area of discipline is that where you get scholarships?

    If I could do a Masters I would, scholarships are rare surely?
  • I graduated in august.

    I didn't expect to walk into a full-time job straight away, I don't think the world owes me a living, but to have gone through 18 years of education, only to (it seems) be at more of a disadvantage than when I left high school at 16 is soul-destroying.

    From what i know unless you are on say nursing then funding for post grad courses is very hard to come by. You can often apply for funding through scholarships but these are notoriously hard to come by. The best bet is to either go part time and work while studying or to get a post grad loan from some of the banks.
