T-Mobile turning down money!

I may only be one small customer to T-Mobile but today I spoke to them as I was looking to increase my monthly priceplan and include web and walk. I am a new daily commuter so I also need a handset with better capabilities so I can surf the net more, check emails and handle the increased useage. I offered to pay towards a new handset (considering the ones I'm looking at are being offered for free with the higher priceplan I was looking at), but the answer was no. To me it does not make very good business sense that I am offering to pay them more by increasing my priceplan as well as paying towards a phone which they are offering for free. The PAYG phones are not suitable so I am unable to purchase one of them, plus that is a lot to spend out. I still have a 8 months on my contract so can't shop around at the moment. Any thoughts?

  • What did you ask t-mobile for if you still have 8 months left? They could have increased your monthly tariff for you and include Web n Walk, but you wouldn't be entitled to a new phone until the last month of your contract.

early upgrades usually are discounted minimally on a handset from manufacturers full RRP, grab a Samsung i200, a 3G+ windows mobile cheapo to go, web n wa(n)k & up your priceplan

SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe ;)
  • Thanks for the comments - basically there is no point me getting a higher price plan with the phone I have, as my phone is old in terms of the technology out there now and I would be using web and walk a lot. I understand that I still have time on my contract but my change to a higher price plan would need to come with a better phone - I know I would not get this free and was willing to pay towards a phone.
  • there isn't any way they can do this even if you were willing to pay for it. They would ask you to buy out the rest of your contract then start again to get a new phone. They would have supplied you with a phone for the length of your contract (if you've renewed since, and taken discount rather than a phone they take it as you don't need another phone for 12/18months). If your willing to pay for a new phone then get a payg one to do either until the end of you're contract or one that will last you, meaning when your time comes to renew you can opt for discount on line rental instead.
